Easy to Install, BUT... and WORTH THE MONEY
I powered off and unplugged my Dell Dimension E521 before starting. I laid the case on its left side, pressed the latch, and the right side panel came off easily. I located the two empty RAM sockets, aligned the memory cards (one at a time) and pressed very firmly to get them to seat. The latches at the end of each socket snapped into place nicely when the cards seated. I reinstalled the right side panel, plugged the computer back in and turned it on. AND... beeeeep, beeeeep, beep... and NOTHING. OH FUDGE, what have I done? I turned the computer off and back on, and same thing. I removed/reseated the memory cards with no luck (yep, kept the power off when monkeying around inside).I powered off and opened the computer, removed the two new memory cards, and powered it back. Things got really hinky at that point... some things worked ok, but internet access was really slow... Firefox was on it's knees.I then reopened the computer, reinstalled the memory cards, and rebooted and .... VOILA ! ! ! Everything came to life for me... all programs ran nicely, even Firefox (though the darned thing doesn't want to die when I exit it). It looks like I have 3.25G of working RAM with Windows XP, according to the system information. I had expected more toward the full 4G that is allegedly installed, but I'm pleased that things are running faster... or running at all.So, if you go this route, don't get discouraged... keep at it. I intend to replace this computer with a Lenovo H520 in the spring, but the memory increase is worth the money.Updated December 7th... Definitely worth the $20 or so spent to upgrade from 2G to 4G. Faster speed and less churning. And Firefox exits quite nicely now. I wish I had done this years ago ! ! !

Great price, no problems, easy to install
I bought this upgrade kit a while ago. I waited to see if there was any problems with the memory cards. None so far. They were very easy to install. I have installed memory cards before. One of the things that I always worried about was the amount of force needed to seat the cards in the slots. These work better. You place the cards in the slots, and use clips on the ends to properly seat the cards. They click in position when properly seated. of course this is a feature of the Dell design, but it is better with the clips. I had only 2 gigs of memory in my older Dell. Now with 4 gigs, it is much faster. Best twenty plus dollars I have ever spent to improve computer performance.

I completely agree with Brie!
I have a Dell Dimension E521 desktop with Windows Vista and only the 1GB RAM that came with it. It was slow, unresponsive at times and it often froze for a minute (or several.) I was ready to beat this thing with a bat like in that scene from "Office Space".I finally got fed up and did some research, and I found out that one of the best ways to make my computer better was to get more RAM. I found out which RAM would be compatible with my PC (just searched on Amazon for "RAM Dell Dimension E521" and it came up. Obviously you need to search for whatever kind of computer you have.)After 8 days it arrived. Which is great considering I live in Maryland and the RAM was shipped from Idaho. I installed it quickly and easily and now my computer is better than its ever been.

Well.. I had 2 gig of ram which was fine for the XP machine but I needed to move to Win 7 so I got this kit to make it 4 gig. Snapped it in and my power supply instantly died. Not the rams fault.. old underpowered supply. It's all good now and I'll get a little more life out of this Dimension E521.

Very pleased!
A-Tech Components and Amazon --- Well done! Place order on a Sunday night, product shipped on Monday, in hand on Wednesday (standard shipping). Received exactly what I ordered, in a protective package. Easily installed and works better than expected. Every aspect of the transaction was executed flawlessly and product has made my old computer very fast. I recommend both the product and the vendor.

Arrived as expected, good value for the price.
The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because there were no directions on how to install the memory. The one suggestion to make sure the memory was seated correctly was spot on, after a few minutes of trial and error I was easily able to install myself.

not really thrilled with brand but, for the $$ i can't complainit's ok.it does what ram should do.i would rather have 800 mhz but that's like digging for gold.plus it's for dell.they cheap out on everything so maybe it's good i don't tax the 800mhz bus.company delivered great.fast.almost immediate
