Sturdy, No Assembly Required, Holds 6 Guitars
This guitar rack works great and easily holds my sonโs six guitars with the separate purchase of the Hercules HA205 Guitar Expander. For extra protection, I followed another customerโs tip and added two pieces of 1-in x 6ft insulation foam pipe ($7 for both) from Loweโs, which helps prevent dings and scratches. I also appreciate that no assembly is required. Itโs ready to use right out of the box. Overall, itโs a sturdy, well-made, and high-quality product that Iโd definitely recommend.

Quite simply the best guitar rack...
This is an outstanding piece of design and manufacturing. I have had other cheaper guitar racks and without a lot of modifications, they are pretty much useless. As you can see from the illustrations, from the side, the Hercules rack is shaped like the capital letter "A". Most cheaper guitar racks from the side are shaped like the capital letter "L". This is an important point because the "A" shape is much more secure and will not accidentally fold up on you dumping your guitars on the floor in the process. The lower padded portion which the guitars rest upon attaches to both legs of the "A" frame. The cheap "L" frame racks have base attaching only at one point where the vertical and the horizontal legs of the "L" join...less parts and metal but not very strong. With the "L" frame rack, I finally had to go to the hardware store and buy a small right-angle brace and bend it and using sheet metal screws to secure to stabilize my "L" rack. Lesson learned, I should have purchased this Hercules stand from the beginning. I use their other two and three auto grip hanging guitar stands already. The Hercules stand shows five positions for five guitars, the package arrived with a bonus add-on for another guitar. Not realizing this at the time of ordering, I ordered two more add-on kits. Now I have a total of eight positions available and guess what? Eight electric guitars fit just fine. I have Les Pauls, Gibson SG's, Fender Strats, Dan Electros and Yamaha Silent guitars on there comfortably and they don't bump into each other in any way. The key design element of the Hercules rack are the "doughnut shaped" foam spacers that you can move around on the padded base portion where the guitar's lower bout rests. These moveable "doughnuts" keep the guitars from moving left or right and therefore, one guitar can't bang the one next to it because the "doughnuts" restrict its movement. On my older cheap "L" style rack, I used large bubble-padded mailing envelopes between the guitars because they were banging against each other. Looks awful but it worked. Bottom line, if you have many guitars, this is the ideal rack. It folds up and no assembly is required. It's made in China but these days, what isn't? The parts are sturdy, the paint was applied nicely, padded feet, the padding that the guitar rests on are non-reactive to a guitar's finish. The cheap guitar racks use a neoprene thin rubber foam like on old water pipe insulation. That I guarantee will react to a lacquer guitar finish. Last comment on the cheap "L" racks, I had to go to the fabric store and get a roll of 2" black cotton material and wrap it around any rubber foam surface that may touch my guitars. I've restored guitars and refinishing a guitar is a lot of work. Many rubber/foam products will break down over time due to exposure to sunlight, heat, ozone, etc. and become soft and sticky. When this happens and your guitar is in contact with this, the foam/rubber can actually melt into the finish of your guitar. Save yourself a mountain of potential trouble, bite the bullet and don't be cheap, pay a little more and get the Hercules Guitar rack, you won't regret it. If you have a collection of acoustics, you may want to stick with the 5-guitar configuration. If you have a collection of Strats or Teles you can get at least 8 if not 10 on this rack.

Stable, Sturdy, Foldable, Excellent Guitar Stand!
I really like this stand. I have 9 guitars but I only ordered the 3 guitar version. Thatโs the amount of guitars I would probably have out of their cases in the studio (bass, electric guitar, acoustic). Once I received the product I was highly impressed. Then I realized you can expand the 3 to 6 and the 5 version one to 10 with the Hercules HA205 I was highly surprised! With that said I ordered 3 of them to expand this unit, in case I want to have my 4 string fretless out with my 5 and 6 string bass, 6 string acoustic 12 string and my telecaster. The stand built very well, sturdy! Comes assembled and its foldable!โฆโฆ.well worth the money spent!

Excellent multi stand!!
Bought this for pit work on the Nat'l Broadway Tours that come thru town. Wonderful stand, easy to set an instrument down quickly and know its going to stay put and stay safe. Breaks down easily, light weight & easy to carry, quality material. Always happy with Hercules products!!

One of the best out there, for the price
Been playing guitars for decades, and have tried all manner of stands, supports, hangers, etc. The Hercules GS525B comes out on top of all of them. * Construction is solid -- tubular aluminum * All appropriate parts are foam-padded, to protect the instruments * Set up is super-easy -- just unfold it and set on the floor * Adjustment is simple and effective * Stability is great, especially compared to the typical 3-point single guitar stand. I shopped around a lot before settling on this stand. Most other "5-guitar" stands I found might hold five thin solid body electrics, but you weren't going to get five acoustics on any of them. The Hercules actually WILL hold five full-sized acoustic guitars. I have some large instruments: dreadnoughts; baritone guitar; acoustic bass; etc., and I had no trouble getting five on this rack, with room to spare. Indeed, with standard-sized guitars and an expansion kit you can easily fit 6 instruments on the rack comfortably, and possibly even 7, if you're careful and don't mind a bit of a close fit. A couple of minor gripes, are why I didn't rate it the full five-stars: - wish the angle was more adjustable It's no problem on-stage, but for in-home storage it sits pretty far from the wall; a shallower angle would allow it to be placed closer to the wall. - the expansion kit some reviewers talk about getting with the rack is no longer included. You need to purchase them separately, for about $11 each: https://www.amazon.com/Hercules-HA205-Guitar-Rack-Extension/dp/B00724YM7E/ - the price seems to have gone up about 12% since I bought mine (for $88) a few weeks ago. Still, even at $100, you're not going to find a better multi-guitar rack for the money. I wish Hercules made something like this for smaller instruments, like mandolins and ukes. Recommended.

Guitars are nicely tucked away now
I have 2 bass guitars (a 4 and a 5 string), an electric guitar, and sometimes an acoustic in my office. They would simply lean against amps/furniture. Recently we adopted a couple of cats that like to climb into and on top of everything in the house. When I heard one of my guitars fall over, and one of the cats was strutting around all proud like, I knew I had to get something better. This stand is nice and sturdy, there is no problem whatsoever holding the basses and my tele. I also bought an additional neck rest so that I can add an acoustic (which I have not done yet). That'll probably be tight, and I'll probably have to unplug the Jazz Bass to make that work but I think it'll fit. The neck rests move around very easily so it's very easy to adjust. The angle is such that the stand fits nicely in a corner. It makes the stand very compact, and it takes very little space. Plus, it looks so professional :). My instruments are nicely tucked away into a corner of my office, and I no longer have to worry about them darn cats. I feel like they priced it based on what 3 individual stands would be rather than material plus a margin, so I think it is overpriced. It is definitely good quality though, and I am very happy with the stand itself.

Works as intended...very well!
I didn't do extensive research. I didn't do a ton of comparisons. It didn't take a month or two of considerations... These work and they work well. I did compare this to a "similar" String Swing model and quickly decided that the modularity and versatility of this unit outweighed any visual considerations. And now that I have it in hand, I'm glad I didn't fart around with wanting something "pretty". I had two guitars next to my recording area on wall mounts and now I have space for 2 more guitars. With some creative reorganizing, the place is taking shape. You can stuff 5 guitars into these with the addition of the available add on HA205 extensions (one of which I did purchase), but I think four is a more "comfortable" fit...your mileage may vary. I like it with 4 right now, but it's nice to know I can add another if I want/need to. I think the price is more than reasonable and the quality is good. An added PLUS...no assembly required. Open the box, remove the plastic shroud, unfold it and voila! Your guitars have a comfy new home. Hard to go wrong with this one...

Simple and Sturdy
Simple and sturdy design. Definitely worth the price. I bought a cheaper stand before and it fell apart within the year. I think this one will last a long time, same as other Hercules products that I have owned for many years.

Great stand! Stop thinking about it a add it to your cart!
Awesome stand I wish it was a little more affordable. But all said it is sturdy and fully assembled in the box. It does not damage my guitars and is quite compact. I got the 3 guitar model and could easily get 2 acoustic and 2 electric guitars on it. Wish it came with a spare yolk to add a 4th guitar to add on as an option but all in all I would reccomend the product to anyone. And if stolen or damaged I would purchase again
