Silverline Wire Hand Saw 330mm (868879)

Excellent for cutting a soil pipe in the corner of a room. Would of been very difficult with any other type of saw.Handles could do with improvement as they bend easily. Otherwise a useful tool.

The most completely useless purchase of a tool from Amazon ever! The wire blade had so little flexibility that it broke whilst I was still in the process of placing it round a 15mm copper pipe, and it was not yet in contact with the pipe, so it was nowhere near tight on the 15 mm diameter of the pipe and I never achieved even a single sawing stroke. This must get some kind of special award for pathetic quality in manufacturing, surely? I have owned a similar device in the past and it worked extremely well.

Five years ago I had my big toenail removed. Ingrown doncha know. But it grew back. It grew back in the form of an inch thick impenetrable wall of concrete. I tried files. The nail giggled.I tried pincers a la trimming horses' hooves. The nail, diamond hard, guffawed. "neigh lad that all you got?"And then I found this. Ordered it.My nail?"What have you done?! No my pretty ill get you and your little dog too! What a world what a world..." before being successfully hacked from toe and binned with the greatest of relish.What it's meant for?Well no.Was it effective?HELL YEAH!

I originally purchased this saw to cut a 15mm copper pipe sited in a very restricted space. Whilst the thickness of the cutting wire makes this quite a sturdy saw, it is not ideally suited to wrapping it around a tight radius, especially in tight spaces. The detachable handles are good as it makes it easier to thread the cutting wire behind and around obstacles, though the cutting wire itself is perhaps a little shorter than I would like. Overall, an effective product but not ideally suited to the job I originally bought it for.

Very useful for sawing something that was strangely shaped, and with little clearance. Some have said they can snap, which I'm sure can happen, but just go slowly and you should be OK.

Mine snapped first use..... not great

Ordered two sets (each with two blades so four in total) having read the negative reviews. All I needed this for was to cut a soil pipe in our bathroom. Job really easily done using just one blade, so needn't have worried.

its thicker and shorter than most wire saws you come across in the camping store. I broke 1 right away being rough with it because I'd nvr used a wire saw before. I was using it on a tree and it was cutting so well I kept pulling harder until it snapped. Be gentle with it and it will serve you well.
