Paul Smith for Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks and Things That Go slipcased edition

I bought this book as a Paul Smith fan and as one of the Scarry books. It's much nicer than the photos make it look, and really enjoy how the cover case is designed. The vehicles are glossy on a Matt background and the traffic light is metallic ink. The card of the cover is quite thick and has a good quality about it. As the book slides in and out of the sleeve is animates the vehicles and traffic light. The book inside has a Paul Smith designed cover and fly sheets and a forward by the designer. The content itself is the Scarry book. Recommended as fun for kids and a bit of design inspiration for grown-ups too.

I grew up with Richard Scarry books, they were one of the series that helps me learn to read as well as about the world and I have loved his illustrations. This title was a gift for one of my adult siblings who also still loves the books.

Beyond fabulous- I had richard scary books back in the 1960s and still love the drawings and words- this is a special gift edition and a beautiful gift for a child-

It was a well received christening present. The parents and nephew loved it.

Got this for my birthday. I had no idea that my favourite childrens book and favourite designer had come together for this masterpiece! Beautifully finished and authentic to the original. This has pride of place on my bookshelf now.
