Brilliant books……but
These books are all brilliant content wise. Excellent way of learning, and keep our boys entertained for ages as always something new to learn. Keep the sellotape handy though as the binding leaves a lot to be desired! Despite being very careful, the spine splits and pages fall out. Such a shame as DK always used to be excellent across the board.

Exceeded high expectations!
I have owned many DK books and encyclopaedia over my lifetime so I knew this was going to be good! This book is being marketed as a good read for curious 9 to 12 years olds, which is selling it short!I am a curious 58 year old and have been enthralled with it!I found the narrative engaging, entertaining, informative and not at all condescending (even at my tender age!)It is a big (Larger than A4) format coffee table book with over 200 high quality photographic and text pages. It would easily satisfy the curiosity of almost anybody of any age picking it up for a random flick through, just like all the best coffee table books do!The superb colour photographs and diagrams are as good as you will find anywhere many of them are good enough to frame and hang on a wall!I cannot praise this book high enough, I am perfectly aware that the internet is available but in an increasingly high tech world there really is nothing like holding and reading a properly great book. When you find the story of the evolution of a fig you will be astounded (I was!) and if you had read the same information on the net you would not have believed a word of it, but you will (and I do!) because it is in here and not on Wikipedia! Of course the downside of this is you might never eat another fig, I certainly doubt any child will ever touch one again when they know the full story!I have learned more from this book in a single afternoon reading session than I did in my full education many years ago.I am looking forward to sharing the images and soundbites with my grandchildren as soon as they become curious 9 to 12 year olds (Or possibly before!)I cannot praise this book highly enough, it is simply awesome!Even if you dont have any curious 9 to 12 year olds I would still recommend it as a great talking point!Happy to help!

Wonderful fulfilling quality book
This book has become a favourite of my 3 year old niece and 5 year old nephew. Whilst they're a little younger than the recommended age this book it has so many beautiful vibrant and fascinating pictures in it that both of them love to flick through and marvel at it. They love to get Mummy to read chunks of it to them too. It's a stunning book i myself was even fascinated by. A wonderful book to fulfill curious little minds and even teach us adults many things too!
