Brilliant lens. If you are after a no compromise ...
Brilliant lens. If you are after a no compromise portrait lens come no further. Sharp at f2 across the frame with excellent build quality. Don't be alarmed by the clunking as the quad linear motors are powered by magnets that disenagage when the camera is off. This lens has excellent close focusing for semi-macro stuff however combined with one of the MCEX-11/16 tubes becomes a macro beast in its own right. Currently glued to my camera. Yes the 56mm f1.2 has better low light performance, and a more practical focal length. However you don't get weather resistant and the lens compression brought with this telephoto prime. Attached some examples when paired with the MCEX-11 and some portraits.

This Lense is so Sweet ... you have to try it !
... when the 90 arrived .. I couldn't put word's into it's ability .. so yes , f2 R LM WR ( water resistant ) it's focusing you can see in the evf, from 1- 10m when you move the ring on the lense , as you depress the trigger, it goes from from f2 to f16 on the inner ring ..you can see with the rose its ability.. i was using my XT4 .. for this . overall I can't say enough about it as it took my breath away ...this is great for walkings and night and streets .. and depending on your photography .. this is a sweet lense .. one for all .. its defiantly one to try out and keep ! .... that's why I bought one...

you ll love it
well, everything has been said on this lens. It is excellent both optically and mechanically. The micro-contrast is amazing and the sharpness excellent if you manage to work with the incredibly narrow depth of field, when used at maximum aperture and minimum focusing distance. The aperture ring is much firmer than on the 23mm, and definitely wont shift accidentally. I removed a start for two reasons: the autofocus is fast but definitely not as fast as lets say the Canon 135f2.L. It is not unusual to get focus hunt and the focusing scale is quite large, and there is no focus distance limiter switch. The second reason is the loose focusing module when the lens is switched of: is it normal, but it make the lens feel fragile. It may never be a problem, but moving parts is a potential source of failure.

Best Fuji lens.
Sharp, high contrast, great bokeh. Has definite character. Robust and weatherproof but not overweight on X H1 or XT4 etc. Focal length surprisingly useful with this quality, giving a new view of the world. Recommend highly.

Build quality and feel are top notch with a beautifully damped focus ring
Simply a superb lens. Sharp across the frame, incredibly sharp in the centre. Very fast and silent autofocus. Build quality and feel are top notch with a beautifully damped focus ring, full metal barrel and weather-sealing. Another great Fujifilm lens.

Tack sharp
The sharpest lens I have ever had, bar none. A terrific prime for anyone with the Fuji X system. Makes a fine portrait lens.

Just outstanding
One of the problems with moving from a full frame DSLR to a camera with a crop sensor is that you lose narrow depth of field, however this is one lens which certainly delivers on that possibility with it's full frame 135mm equivalent focal length and wide aperture. Razor sharp, and pretty short and relatively lightweight, certainly a better alternative to the 50-140 if you ask me. Gets a top recommendation from me.

top marks!
quite simply this is one of the best lenses I've ever used. its my most used Fujifilm lens. its an exception long portrait lens (137mm @35mm equivalent). the lens is one of if not the fastest to focus on the fuji system. it also has a short minimum focus distance, meaning you are able to focus close of subjects such as flowers and insects. so this isn't just an excellent portrait lens. the lens is quite large for a fuji lens -but i find it comfortable and easy to use. the f2 aperture allows for beautiful out portraits with a creamy background. its a wonderful, well built lens.

Messerscharf & perfekt
