This item was used to replace an original Hunter control unit from a decade ago. The original remote had poor range, no connectivity, and would randomly turn the fan on and off.The new controller and remote are excellent. The fan can now use and dim LED bulbs, works at a great range, and connects to Alexa very easily.The only downside is that the back of the remote is domed, so if you have it on a side table and push down, it tries to slip out from under your finger. It’s easier to actually pick it up rather than just stab the button with your index finger. Not a huge issue at all, just an observation.All in all, I bought three more to infuse my older but excellent fans with modern abilities.

Easy to install

This receiver sensor and remote replaced the original receiver in my outdoor ceiling fan that went out after 12 years of service. It was an exact replacement of the original. The ceiling fan is up and running again and the remote functions properly as before.

I bought this replacement receiver hoping it would sync up with my existing Harbor Breeze fan/OEM remote control. It did not sync up with the Harbor Breeze OEM remote . . .however, it did replace the original burned out OEM receiver. . . so I had to use the provided remote with this receiver. The both of them controlled the fan just fine. I did notice an audible clunck from the fan motor when starting or changing fan speed. I did not have that with OEM receiver/remote. It also seemed like maybe the fan motor did not achieve same max rpm as it did with OEM receiver/remote? - cannot be certain about that. Overall, this receiver/remote combo did work as intended, and was a fine replacement in the interim until the OEM replacement I ordered came. The OEM receiver allowed me to continue to use the OEM remote, so this replacement's installation was only limited to 2-3 weeks, so I cannot comment on its longevity. Also, this remote had no problem accepting the required CR2032 battery. Those reviewers who were not able to install this battery in the remote shouldn't be trying the simple job of changing out a fan receiver.

I am experienced with this type of installation but the instructions are very poor. I have been trying to pair the new remote with the existing receiver (no problem with the receiver) but it doesn't pair. Hunter CS says that I can do it this way but it doesn't work. Still trying. Waste of a lot of time.

Great product and easy setup

Purchased to replace the mower in a hunter ceiling fan/light. So far it is working as it should and I didn’t hear much cursing while he was installing it, lol!

My fan stopped working due to a power surge. This was the replacement part I needed and works great!

Couple of things with this order. First is the wiring diagram didn’t match the OEM so I had to sort of mix and match. Everything worked out but it’s always a pain when having to work over your head.The second thing is that I was told I received a gift for my purchase but when I hit the “button” it just added the item to my cart. So no freebie, but whatever.
