I own a few Alessi items, but this must be one of the best so far! I can confirm that all metal parts are in fact stainless steel, including the handle. The paperwork explains that this design follows the "Golden Proportion" which "imitates what occurs in nature". It follows "a constant mathematic relationship ...equal to about 0.618". It sounds like Intelligent Design to me (praise the Lord)! So, when you successfully copy "nature", you know you are going to end up with something very good, as this thing truly is. The very heavyweight "traditional mouth-blown" "crystalized glass" combined with all-stainless is absolutely superb and it looks fantastic. It has "Italy" stamped on the stainless lid (very small), but it doesn't outright state where it was made. The only negative perhaps is that the "dipper" doesn't reach to the bottom of the pot, so you cannot get the dregs out by using the dipper. Actually I find that when the level in the pot drops below the halfway mark the dipper is only partly submerged, meaning that you effectively scoop out progressively less honey than you would like to. I overcome this problem by topping up the pot regularly, which is not a big deal. Then eventually the honey starts to crystallize in the pot, and at this point I don't refill the pot again until using up all the honey (by scraping the last dregs out with a teaspoon). After a quick wash in lukewarm water the pot is ready to be filled again for another number of cycles. I guess this is more hassle than using honey out of the bottle it is purchased in; however this pot does really look so much better and is a pleasure to use! All in all I'm sure that you will not regret this purchase.

Though this pot is quite pricey, it's the perfect gift for someone who adores honey.It's both stylish and practical, once you get the gist of rotating the drizzler!It's not dish-washer safe though is very easy indeed to wash by hand, with washing-up liquid.I'd recommend it.

The vendor substituted a cheap, crappy glass honeypot worth £11 for this £76 item. Since it was a gift sent direct to the recipient, I only found out when they realized the description on the paperwork didn’t match the item and sent a photo. So embarrassing. Amazon is now a disreputable souk full of thieves and fraudsters. Beware!
