This is a very solid lockbox. I got this over 2yrs ago for my wife to deal with Internet addiction. I got her the large one so that it's big enough to put her mini iPad and iPhone. I hope they eventually make an even bigger version for larger iPads. The lockbox is really easy to use for my wife and it is still working fine after 2yrs+. The side opening is very handy for charging the devices while they are locked in the box. The simple black box design keeps it subtle no matter wherever it is placed so it does not draw much attention, which especially is helpful for my wife to not notice that her iPhone is being locked away. I do like that there are 2 panes of plexiglass to look into the lockbox but an improvement would be to add LED lights that light up the chamber for easier viewing when pressing one of the buttons. The only downside is that since the model I got was purchased over 2yrs ago, it does not have the new emergency unlock feature. That can be very handy if you need to access the device before the time runs out or if you get confused between days vs hours. You may consider upgrading to the newer model with the emergency unlock feature if you have the older model. Overall, my wife and I are quite happy with the Starsiki lockbox and highly recommend it! I also want to add that customer service was very quick when I had to contact them!

I was drinking too much. I was unhappy. Every morning I would say "ugh, yuck, that is the last time!" By 7pm the next day, I would be buying more wine or beer. So I wanted to stop drinking but I struggle with impulse control. I was lurking on a subreddit and someone mentioned "well, have you tried a timed lockbox?" I ordered one of these immediately because I knew this would work for my personality type. I wouldn't maniacally try to get it open. Once it is locked, I am not necessarily content but I also won't force the issue. I will just get used to the idea that I CAN'T access my money. Anyway, this has been the perfect solution. I haven't had any alcohol since this got here. And as soon as I hear my inner dialogue start negotiating with why buying alcohol would be a good idea, I set the timer on this box until the next morning. I have been setting it til about 5am which is a good time because my craving will be over and if I need actual groceries, the card is accessible again in the morning. I highly recommend this product. I am happy that there is a pragmatic solution rather than just trying to "man" through something. It's okay if we need a little help! Anyway, it is big enough to fit my wallet, passport and my phone if I wanted to put that in there. There is a space for a charging cord to go into the box if you want to charge your device while it's in storage. You can set the timer for minutes, for hours or for days. I use the plug but it also has a battery option. I am just too lazy to buy batteries. With me not buying alcohol, this paid for itself in about 2-4 days.

For strict time-out occasions this lock box is great. You can put your child's phone in here for the night and they will be able to retrieve it in the morning, without having to bother you for a key or combination, both of which pose some security concerns. It can be powered by a USB-C cable or batteries that are inserted on the inside of the lid. If you use the USB-C without batteries, and unplug it the timer continues to function but it will not unlock until the time expires and you plug it in again. If you use batteries it will work seamlessly as you expect, unless the batteries die and you have to plug in a USB-C cable in order to unlock it. In all cases the timer functions properly. This is all that isn't intuitive in its operation.

Amazon page says the emergency override instructions are in the manual. The manual is not included. There is no website. (There is only a "Quick User Guide" with no emergency instructions.) You are supposed to contact their Outlook.com email address and they will send you instructions to emergency override! I hope it is not an actual emergency. Update: They will provide you with ONE single-use unlock code that works only with the current lock timer. Addition unlock codes are available for a fee. (They don't disclose this detail in the product advertising.) I hope you are good at clock-math. This device requires a lot of clock-math to use. You have to enter the amount of time until it will next unlock in days, hours and minutes. For example, if you unlock it a 3pm but want to relock it until 9:30am the next day. Ok. That's 9 hours 30 minutes plus (12pm minus 3pm equals 9 hours) equals 18 hours and 30 minutes. Click click click... Enter click, locked! (Dude! I hope you don't keep your edibles in the box!) Does not work with long-life Lithium (LiFe) batteries to prevent leaking. You could break the lid with a hammer in a real emergency, and it is not very expensive.

This is the second time lock box by this manufacturer that I have purchased. The previous one was smaller, and I need more space for the items I wish to time lock. At the same time I bought the smaller one I had bought a larger one from a different manufacturer, but while I liked it alright, it failed after about a year. I did use it more than the smaller STARSIKI, so that may be a factor, but I needed a bigger one so the larger STARSIKI box is the one I am replacing it with. Be aware, the batteries must be alkaline, as the lithium batteries are about a tenth of a volt higher, and that apparently is enough to keep the electronics from operating.

This is a game changer. I feel like I have my life back when I lock up my phone. Only challenge is getting myself to use it more often! I cannot recommend this more highly. As a super intensely addicted phone person, I am SO grateful for this device and it's the only thing that's really made a difference for me in terms of limiting my phone use.

I’m only given this three stars because the product works fine until you have to emergency unlock. I use this for my elderly parents for their pain medication as they have memory problems and don’t remember last time they have taken. Been using this for about eight months and today found the box locked for many days. The most I ever set it for is eight hours each and every day. This box has a feature to add on more time without having to wait for it to unlock to add more time. I believe my parent was messing with the buttons and added more time which ended up being five days extra. The users manual says to contact Amazon directly to give them an unlocked code that shows up on the display to do an emergency unlock. Amazon says they don’t do that and I’m waiting for response from the product vendor themselves. So if there’s a chance that you might need to use an emergency unlock, do not get this product as you will not get an emergency unlocked. Otherwise, product works very well.

I actually thought of Inventing this 10 years ago. This box allows you to buy like a six pack of candy and not be tempted to eat it all. These days w $2.78 large bags of chips or $3 for large candies, you can eat half and then lock them up first tomorrow. So it's like eating a $1.39 bag of chips and a $1.50 candy bar times two days. A great invention. I don't care about the emergency unlock feature. I mean just pay attention to entering the correct amount of time. They should just charge you for the unlock code. I just push it had a rechargeable battery but supposedly the 4 triple a's will last a while

Sturdy metal box for smart phone so that phone can’t be used while locked. Can be easily set for longer periods. Hole on side for recharging is handy. Very satisfied.

I had bought the more marketed version of this a few years ago. But this wins on both price and quality. The only thing this lock box comes up short in apparently is a bigger marketing budget. A few pros: - Longer span of time you can use - Can run on USB - Much more sturdy

No parece ser una caja indestructible pero si es aprueba de niños. Sugiero ser cuidadoso con la cantidad de tiempo de bloqueo ya que no se puede abrir una vez bloqueada y más si guardas cosas importantes como un celular que puede ser ocupado hasta para una emergencia.

This is a fantastic product and has genuinely improved how my partner and I watch films and TV shows together.
