Raddy RF320 App Control Shortwave Radio, All-Band Receiver, Black

The controls can be a little confusing. The hardest part was to set the clock and backlighting function to always on. Has a decent size screen though. I just wish they would make a decent size table radio like this with all these functions. This radio does sound okay but with a bigger speaker would likely sound even better. Lots of bands and choices. I just wish the keys to operate it were bigger, and easier to read. Most keys are multi-function so there are two things printed on each key. I was pleasantly surprised with SW reception in my area. Am and FM stations in my area are few and far between. I can't receive any WB broadcasts but there is a line-of-sight issue where I live. I'm in a valley between two mountains. No hits there...I may set up an external antenna over my roof in the near future. I'm not done trying yet. And BTW, this antenna is the skinniest antenna I have ever seen. The smallest section is like a thin piece of wire, and I do mean thin. I would change that if I could. Extensive use has already made it loosen a little. Good thing, because one good push down and you're going to have a bent antenna. I haven't used the recording function and I likely won't, but it is nice to have. The cell phone app needs device location permission upon install. I don't know why that is... Seems unnecessary. I have other radios that don't need it, so...I don't know if they sell that info...would be nice to know. But the buttons are bigger on my android phone. So, we have that. The USB also functions as data transfer for the TF card. It also serves as a charger, and PC audio. Thats a new one on me. The screen shows antenna signal strength. I like that! Bluetooth works but didn't keep signal on several occasions for me. This was in close proximity to each other. I don't use BT too often. Other reviewers say theirs worked fine. So... Overall, this is a decent radio. The RGB lighting is subtle and low key. Thats nice too. The volume goes loud. The rear base speaker works okay. Bigger sound from a small radio. I imagine that battery life drains faster at a high level. Good to use as an outside radio. Talk radio and music play well here. Good Job Raddy....two thumbs up here!

The frequency for hearing impaired has changed to lower frequency. Traditional radios do not have stations below 88. I was now longer able to record the meetings. I love using the recordings to prepare for the review meetings of the Conventions.. RECORDING: I am so happy that I found this device that gets the all stations used at a JW Convention. I was able to record the entire convention, with the assistance of their app used on my smart phone. The recording controls are on the app, you must link to the phone blue tooth. My only issue was I mistakenly stopped to the recording, while following along with the speaker reading the scriptures. The recordings need an app, and I kept stopping the recording. I plan to use an unused smart phone that I will dedicate to the radio, so it will not happen again. DUMPING & STORAGE; You can listen to the recordings from the device, or transfer to PC to transfer to other media. You must remove the SD card to transfer the files to your PC, with a card reader. The recordings are in order as recorded. I created a folder by the convention name, dumped them into the folder. I relabeled the recordings by day/date, and number the file by date/1of??/. I used the JW program to reference to keep the files in order. I plan to designate a jump drive for Convention Recordings and tablet to listen anywhere at my convenience.

This is a neat little radio. I purchased this primarily for its looks. For its appearance I give it a 5/5. I'm located in Ottawa, Canada and I can get AM channels from Toronto, Boston and Connecticut at times. I can receive WRMI Miami on shortwave fairly clearly (even more so that the local CHU time signal from NRC), and I heard a station from Romania at one time. There's not much in my area wrt VHF and AIR bands so I don't use those. For reception I give a 3½/5. The app works well. It's a nice add-on though I don't see myself using it often, mainly to use the record function which is only available through the app. 4/5 The sound is great for a smallish radio, that additional rear speaker really gives it a good presence. It does offset the center of gravity and makes the unit a little tippy toward the rear so be careful not to put it on the edge of a table. FM sounds great! For sound 4½/5. There are two Bluetooth connections, one for the app and one for use as a Bluetooth speaker. The BT app connection works every time. The BT speaker connection sometimes fails to reconnect. (If you encounter this, power off the radio and wait for the LCD display to turn entirely off, then turn it back on and it reconnects - at least for me it does.) Bluetooth 3½/5. Adding an SD card (not included) is a great feature and I suggest getting one. It allows recording and also playback of a few digital audio formats. There's no sorting by Album or Artist or any of that. Just a track number on the LCD or a track title via the app. So I only put on maybe 5-10 files at any time. If I put an album on I'll concatenate the whole thing with mp3wrap to avoid having to cycle through multiple tracks. 4/5 The controls are good. They take a little getting used to as many buttons have multiple functions in different modes of operation or whether long-pressed or short-pressed. The auto-scan feature doesn't find anything on AM for me for some reason, even on strong local stations. FFWD and RWND in the playback mode are a little slow. For controls 4/5. Battery duration: if I use it a lot I have to recharge every few days. No complaints. 4/5 In brief I think this is decent unit and I have been having a lot of fun with it. My main uses are as an FM radio and bluetooth speaker and for those it does great. The other features work relatively well and add to the experience.

The radio is big, chucky and heavy. There are many hoops and loops to figure how to operate the radio. I can't remember all different buttons. The radio is glitchy and clunky sometimes the button does not work. After repeated button push it finally works. SW and Weather Band is useless living in San Francisco, CA. I purchase the radio for listening to FM news and SD card music library. The radio is made in China reliability is questionable. The radio speaker quality sound is good , it comes with a passive speaker. I can hear bass response. The radio is not portable to take it with your for going on walks and bike riding. I return the radio for a refund. I do not recommend the radio.

Very useful, fun, rad radio! Sounds amazing for its size. Holds charge for a long time. Great for playing BT or sd card music playlists. The headphone and line out jack is in stereo. If you live near an airport or commercial flightpath, it's really fun to tune the AIR freqs to listen to pilots. If you are a frequent airline customer, you could use this radio to listen to your pilots and tower radio chatter to know more about what's going on with your flight. Overall, it's feature packed and excellent price for what you get.

I bought this little radio on a whim and it arrived just yesterday, so I cannot vouch for it's durability or overall quality. And I must say outright that I did not expect this device to be so incredibly small. It's like, 4" square and less than 2" deep. And in my mind that's a great thing. It means I can pack this little gadget in my backpack for a backwoods journey and pull in radio stations in the wild. Another thing I didn't expect was the shear amount of functionality built into this little thing. Not only does it sport several bands of radio frequencies that can be dialed in with a few different redundancies, but it also lets you use it as an external bluetooth speaker and apparently through the inclusion of a TF card reader as well. And the App that comes with it to remotely control the radio is a great little touch for those of us who don't wish to climb out of the hammock to switch channels while enjoying a nice Montana sunset! so was the 8 foot wire antenna that could be attached to a tree branch. Overall it's a slick design and I hope it lasts a long time.

UPD!!! After a week of very delicate usage, the two volume buttons got completely broken. The buttons fall inwards. When I slightly press, they don't work at all, when I press harder, they act like the left "neighboring" buttons (i.e. Vol+ works as BT button, Vol- works as Memo button). This means that I can adjust the volume and set up the alarm only via the app, but the backlight isn't adjustable at all. I guess that the whole right side of the chip panel is broken off within the device because it wasn't fixed firmly! Unfortunately, I have to return the device to replace it (I love this radio and want to give it a second chance). ------- It's a great device! Delivery to Germany was delayed about a week due to "rules for handling lithium batteries," but the parcel arrived quickly and undamaged. I've been using the radio for about a week and my impressions are very positive. The device is a bit smaller than it appeared in photos and videos, which is actually a plus. The plastic quality is much better than it looked online — it feels nice in the hand and like a real piece of electronics, not a toy. One minor concern: the rotary knob looks slightly crooked. I’m not sure if it’s a defect and I’m reluctant to disassemble the unit, but the knob works perfectly otherwise. I like the accessories, especially the wired antenna, which significantly improves shortwave reception. The instructions can be confusing at times — they appear to be translated from Chinese — but I managed to figure out the button functions and the app fairly quickly; a few details still need clarification. I live in Tbilisi (South Caucasus) and have caught shortwave and medium-wave stations from Ukraine, China, Iran, Romania, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Vatican. I even once picked up a weather forecast on the airwaves, which rarely broadcasts here, but at least that showed the function works. The only band that’s completely silent locally is WB — those waves aren’t used in our part of the world. There are a few minor flaws: you can’t save marquee mode settings — the radio always reverts to S1 when powered on — and the app doesn’t let you set how many minutes the radio-alarm runs (that can only be done with the buttons). I also experienced one serious issue when connecting in PC mode to transfer recorded files from the microSD: it worked once, but the next time the connection dropped and the radio froze with no button response. I feared firmware corruption, but I was able to power it off and on again; it recovered, so it may have been an OS issue on my computer. Overall, I’m very satisfied. The radio has many small, thoughtful details that show it was designed with care and attention.

Excellent system. Loaded over 1200 songs on a memory car and I can control the whole thing with my phone via Bluetooth.

Een goede radio met zeer goede ontvangst alhoewel ik in het Centrum woont kun je er redelijk vele radio stations ontvangen dus goed geslaagd.

Ich bin ein Hifibastler und arbeite als mein Hobby alte Hifitechnik aus den 70‘ern + 80‘ern auf (Tonbandgeräte, Kassettendecks, Radios, Plattenspieler usw.). Durch dieses Hobby weiß ich, was klanglich möglich ist und habe immer einen Vergleich zu neuen Geräten. Nun habe ich mir aus Interesse einfach mal ein paar kompakte Radios gekauft, um zu sehen, was heutzutage angeboten wird und ich war teilweise wirklich positiv überrascht. Die Firma Raddy kannte ich vorher noch nicht, nun besitze ich bereits 5 Radios von Raddy. Auch wenn einige Geräte scheinbar eine Gemeinschaftsproduktion mit anderen Herstellern zu sein scheint (z.B. Retekess), bewerte ich hier mithilfe meiner Erfahrungen die Firma Raddy. Hier geht es nun um das außergewöhnliche Raddy RF-320: Das Gehäuse / die Funktionen: - ein tolles „Solid-State-Design“ der 80‘er - digitales Display und analoge Anzeige getrennt beleuchtbar - schöne Beleuchtungsdetails – sogar auf der Rückseite (als indirekte Stimmungsbeleuchtung) - seitlich eingebaute Taschenlampe mit guter Streuung - saubere Verarbeitung und teils sehr schöne haptische Bedienung über die beiden Frequenzeinstellräder - eine schöne doppelte LED Lichterkette oben drauf wird zur Anzeige von (VU) Pegel verwendet und ist ein absolutes Design-Highlight, abschaltbar - die Tasten an der Front besitzen alle eine Doppelbelegung - Bluetooth Wiedergabe bzw. in Verbindung mit der Raddy-App mit Handy fernbedienbar - MP3 Wiedergabe und weitere Formate über Micro-SD Karte - Stereowiedergabe über Klinkenbuchse - AUX – Eingang über Klinkenbuchse - austauschbarer 18650‘er Akku Der Empfang: Auch der Sendersuchlauf gestaltet sich hier als ein Design-Highlight, da sich direkt mit dem Rad eine interne Rundskala dreht, die zwar nur in % analog anzeigt, wo man ist, aber dafür wird die Frequenz zuverlässig im linken Display angezeigt. - Sender rasten sauber und einfach ein - die Sender finden sich sehr einfach mit dem Senderrrad, manche Sender sind aber nicht ganz rauschfrei empfangbar, wo andere Raddyradios etwas rauschärmer regeln Zwischen den Sendern gibt es zum Glück mal keine komplette Rauschunterdrückung, was den manuellen Sendersuchlauf extrem vereinfacht (z.B. im SW und MW Band). Die Empfangsstärke würde ich als mittelgut einstufen. Bei FM ist der Empfang vertretbar gut. Dafür konnte ich im SW-Band einige schwache Sender garnicht reinbekommen, das ist aber mehr meckern auf hohem Niveau. Der Klang: Insgesamt gibt es hier einen sehr sauberen Lautsprecherklang mit klaren Höhen, der aber leider nur über teils unbrauchbare Equalizer-Voreinstellungen veränderbar ist. Der interne 5 W Mono-Lautsprecher besitzt eine zusätzliche Bassmembrane auf der Rückseite und ist im Gehäuse getrennt gekapselt, wodurch der tiefe Bass etwas betont wird. Nicht so doll ist der Klang über den Stereo Klinken-Kopfhöreranschluss – hier fehlt es einfach an Höhen und Bässen und die voreingestellten Equalizereinstellungen machen das Ganze nicht besser. Fazit: Raddy – bitte integriert bei solchen schönen Radios eine getrennte Bass- und Höhenregelung – die voreingstellten Equalizerklänge bieten nicht das, wozu das Radio fähig ist. Ansonsten ein schönes und außergewöhnliches Radio im 80‘er Jahre Solid-State-Design mit sehenswerter VU-Anzeige und haptisch sehr angenehmer Senderwahl. Der Klang mit dem Lautsprecher ist top aber über Klinkenbuchse etwas ausbaufähig. Ich vergebe trotzdem volle 5 Sterne, weil das einfach ein tolles Radio ist und dazu gibt es eine klare Kaufempfehlung für Sammler und Radiofans, die etwas optisch Besonderes haben wollen.

También es un producto de emergencia que se puede llevar al aire libre o en el mar. Cuenta con múltiples funciones y una forma más interesante de buscar canales, admite búsqueda por botones, búsqueda por polea y lanzadera, búsqueda por dial giratorio y selección de frecuencia por teclas digitales en la aplicación de teléfono. Las múltiples formas de buscar canales le brindan una experiencia de uso única en el mundo, y tiene 6 efectos de sonido , todo ello comprendido en un espacio de 119 x 102 cm y 360gr, supongo que imposible de reparar en España. CONTRAS: instrucciones muy complejas, y en inglés. Sin embargo he escrito al correo que señalan y en 24 horas me han respondido en español prometiendo preparar folleto en nuestro idioma, y… me han enviado en español adaptado a las imágenes la traducción exacta. La popularidad de falta de calidad de los productos chinos se viene abajo. Altavoces delantero y trasero, y por si faltaba algo, incluye potente linterna.
