Following the success of his first Town House Films DVD - 'Watercolour the Wesson Way' - Steve Hall Returns to show you in detail how watercolour master Edward Wesson (1910 - 1983) painted some of his classic views, including Morston church in Norfolk, The Silent Pool and Thames sailing barges at Pin Mill. Steve takes five original Wessons from his own extensive collection and paints his own pictures of similar themes inspired by the Wesson originals. This DVD is shot in a teaching studio with Steve working mostly from photographs and sketches so you can see every brushstroke in five full demonstrations. This DVD is a must for Wesson fans.

An excellent tutorial
This DVD is definitly more than just a demo. It provides explanations on the why and how. After watchnig the wesson's way I was able to perform myself a fairly decent painting of, for ewample,"the old barn" . I found also most valuable to see how to best exploit a limited palet. Maybe the way Stev Hall speaks is sometimes quite fast and low tone. Therefore in a few occasions I missed one bit or two of some sentences, at least for me Frenchman...

Steve Hall is a master of Wesson's style of painting
The DVD illustrates how Wesson achieved his style. It provides instructions for the beginner watercolourist and provides tips and hints on how to achieve particular effects. For those who wish to develop a loose style of painting capturing the 'spirit' of a place and less 'photographic' effect you will gain good experience from this demonstration by Steve Hall.
