I have used about 12 of these over several projects, and they perform as expected. The included hardware is perfectly usable which is not always the case. If I were to have one criticism it would be that the flange portion could be a bit heavier duty. I have bolted these to railroad ties, which are not perfectly flat and if you use too much torque, the flange will bend a bit to conform to the shape of the substrate. Go easy with the impact driver and you'll be fine. I have an upcoming project building an outdoor kitchen, and will be once again using this product.

I used these to tie my deck roof posts to the top of the deck. They look really nice. I did buy some special, black lags to bolt them down: they come with cement anchors only. We don't get tornados or hurricanes here in Oregon, so I don't expect that my roof will be flying away ;-)

The post bases came exactly as advertised. They look good and are the exact dimensions. Unfortunately, I misjudged the circumference of the posts I needed to attach them to and I have to return them. I am well satisfied with what I got, I just cannot use them.

The anchors that I received were 3/8 inch in diameter, not 1/2". I pre-drilled the holes based on my partner having the same ones. His came with 1/2 in anchors. I needed to complete the project, so I had to buy 1/2 in diameter anchors. Extra expenses!!! Edit: The post bases do a good job of holding the 4x4 post snug. I used them to install a heavy gate. The posts rest in the post bases and I added an L brace at two points on the post. I used the 1/2 in. anchors I bought instead of the 3/8 in. they supplied. The 1/2 in. anchors filled the holes in the base very tightly. If you are using a handheld hammer/drill, you should use the 3/8 in. anchors. I had a hammer/drill guide so that when I started the hole the bit would not jump around. By hand, any slight deviation and the bases have no give in case you drilled the 1/2 in. holes a bit off. The product and customer service were perfect for my intended use, 4 starts instead of 5 because the anchors were not as advertised.

I would use something more substantial for a main stair anchor or a mailbox, but they were perfect for my deck. I love that they come with the anchors and are about 1/3 of the price of the heavy duty brackets (that do not come with anchors). Great purchase for me, and would recthem to anyone who doesn’t have a high stress post to anchor.

It comes with extremely beefy, mounting hardware for concrete. However, it’s unable to withstand the slightest push from a simple breeze. It’s not welded all the way around it just has for tech points extremely weak and absolute rubbish. If you buy this plan on undoing everything you just put together only to have to replace it with better equipment.

As a contractor I noticed there's not much available out there when it comes to adding a wall or railings to a platform that are sturdy & Look good . I found these and they are made well plus look great . I use them whenever I can on mine or my clients projects .

The product works as described, but it does not hold up to weight very well. I have only had it a month with the 4 x 4 inside and the bottom has already cracked. Wish it was a little more sturdy.
