VHT Wheel Paint, Satin, Black, 11 oz

Great match for my f350 trim panels. Seems to be more durable.

Painted my wheels and the color is nice! A little lighter than I thought but it looks great, and close to OEM for my waffle wheels. Held up great under conditions, no chips.

Painted the OEM wheels on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road three years ago and there are zero chips, peals or damage of any kind. This truck goes everywhere: pavement, gravel, dirt. Prep was light sanding and thorough cleaning. Base coat of Rust-Oleum self etching primer, two color coats and three weeks of drying. Don't know that three weeks are necessary, but I was waiting on tires before playing wheel swap again. Worked so well, I'm doing it to a 2003 Toyota Sequoia big-brake wheel swap next.

Really excellent paint. Used it to refinish the wheels on my Tacoma pickup. They look beautiful and after three months still look as good as the day I repainted them. But remember anyone can blow paint onto something. That is not what makes for a great end result. It's the preparation that makes the difference so follow the instructions and make sure the wheels are sanded, if needed, and are clean. I was buying new tires and the tire dealer worked with me. I placed the truck on four jack stands and the tire dealer removed all the old tires at no additional charge as they had to do that anyway. I took the bare wheels home and after wet sanding them with 80, 120, and 320 grit wet or dry sandpaper, I washed them and then used Denatured alcohol and micro fiber rags from Dollar General to remove any residue or film and then painted them. Three light coats on each wheel. I bought four cans and used three full cans on all four wheels. The paint seemed to have more pigment than normal spray can, or aerosol can paint. It covered well and if you use light coats, around 10-12 inches away, the paint did not run. I did have a run when I became a little impatient but I flipped the wheel up so the paint would run the other way and was able to even out the run. Then added additional coats at the time stated on the can. The entire job took two days.

I used this in conjunction with VHT Engine Primer and VHT Wheel Clear Coat to refinish a set of alloy wheels. The quality of the paint was top notch. For a rattle can, the spray is very fine and precise. It coats evenly and smoothly. After final coats were finished (3 each of primer, paint & clear coat) I let it dry, including baking in the hot sun for a day before finish sanding (2000 grit) and polishing to a nice shine. Now that it has cured, the paint feels rock hard and durable. The only negative I have is that the color is a bit more grey than silver. Definitely darker than other silver paints I've used and a little darker than I was hoping. I also tested the VHT 'Aluminum' color but could not tell much difference between the two. I may take a look at their 'Chevy' silver to see if that is more to my liking and if so I may redo the wheels with that. Otherwise I will go back to the Einszett silber. Too bad, because I liked the way the VHT lays down.

Honestly I was skeptical about painting my wheels but they were just so faded out and basically down to the aluminum. I just got my car wrapped so I wanted black wheels and powder coating that was going to cost like $1,000. I prepped and sanded and used a self-etching primer and then two coats of this. They look amazing! Everyone keeps complimenting them and thinks that I got them professionally done. I don't even want to admit that it only cost me $30 to do. What a deal! It goes on evenly as long as you use the correct sweeping motion. The coverage was great with two coats. Super easy to apply. Fantastic value. Really happy with this.

Applied 3 months ago and looks like the first day after several car washes. Also very similar to the original color, I have a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium.

My husband is restoring a weary 1951 F4 truck and has done a lot of research in his quest to make it as close to original as he can. When he took off the grille to do some rewiring, he decided that he'd like to see how it looked originally, rather than the aftermarket (and very tacky) paint it had. He sanded the grille to bare metal, used Rustoleum primer, then applied two coats of the Argent Silver paint. The difference was amazing! The paint isn't "shiny", but has a warm gleam, like well-polished pewter. I know he'll have the whole truck professionally painted eventually, but this paint made a world of difference for right now. We also have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid and were admiring the way this paint color-matched the wheels on our car. They don't need the paint, but the color is excellent and will be great if we ever need to touch up the wheels.
