I had bought my kids upgraded laptops for their school. They have DVDs that they watch for homeschool and the new laptops didn't have an optical disc drive.Being that these are sold from overseas, I was a little bit concerned with the quality, but so far they have been working great!My kids use these almost every day and have been doing so for the last several months. They have worked like a charm and I would highly recommend them. I've also tested out burning a CD and it was capable (and successful) of doing a CD burning.One thing that is really nice about this drive is that it provides the option to use either USB-C or USB-A to plug it up.

Works wonderful

It had a 2-year warranty but worked well for only a few months, then quit altogether. It did not recognize a disk, and had other error codes from different programs, especially, PowerDVD-22 and 23. I emailed the address on the card which showed the warranty and the email address to get a replacement. After 3 emails with no response, I tried finding a phone number for the company that made the drive. NO LUCK. I then called Amazon and they gave me the number, which was in China. After explaining the problem, they gave me a partial refund, which I thought was fantastic. I'm so Glad I'm a prime member. I'm going to order a drive sold by a company in the USA (Pioneer). They are advertised as having good Tech Support. Once I get the drive, I'll call their support number to be sure they are legit.. If not, I'll send it back within the 30 day window and try a different company.

Bought this for my new HP PC that doesn't have any optical drive bays, was able to play/rip DVDs and Blu-Rays with no issues and doesn't require an additional power source, which is nice. Some people are unaware that playing blu-rays in Windows requires additional setup, but can be done for free, using guides found online for VLC media player.

This sure makes it easy to rip DVDs and Blu-rays for my personal library.

This unit appears to be very well made and is quite handsome to look at. It is definitely unmatched with features however the one I purchased it for didn't work. I bought a few software packages and tried a few freebies but the unit wouldn't write the Blue Ray disks. These disks are not cheap or easy to find and I made over 15 coasters. CD's and DVD's were perfect. If you have an old case handy it's better to keep an old PC around and stick with the internal drives. Whatever you do find a solution quickly before these type drives are a thing of the past.

So far playing my dvd so well

It works completely fine with DVD which is amazing because most of the new laptops do not come with this feature and that could be a pain sometimes. It works fine with Macbook Pro as well.Really great with kid's scholls projects when they have DVDs! Really happy with my purchase :)

Does not come with multiple power cord option for different countries and no included driver and software to install
