Not bad not bad at all
Decent story with a likable protagonist and some plot points, which I don’t want to spoil but are unexpected. Now I will say that some other plot points are easy to spot a mile away. I’m not saying that’s good or bad, but it’s predictable what would happen in so many instances. It’s the relationships that are formed or not form door discussed that are one of the more intriguing aspects of the book. Now the story does proceed at a slow pace. This is not the MC leaves the village to save the world story. Instead, the author takes time building a world, and you get to know where this MC grew up. In fact, you get to see her develop. This might be something you’re into you might be more into the faster pace, leaving the village, saving the world, slaying the monsters know this is not slice of life pace but it’s not breakneck superhero pace either. Now the story that’s told it’s not one of the greats but it’s pretty good definitely worth a read, and it does harken back to cradle to some degree. Remember, that first story in Cradle wasn’t the best in the series so I think you should give this author a chance and see where they take it. For the record if I had to compare this book to the first book of cradle, this book would come out slightly ahead.Message to the Author SPOILERS INCLUDED.I always write a note to the author in books that I like. This was really good. On a 10 point scale. I’d give it an 8.5. Not because anything bad occurred. It’s just the action was lacking to some degree hearing that the MC bounced off a cloud of air or floating in the sky or something of that sort it left dipped and the description necessary to really picture what was going on. Now the relationship dynamics that are discussed. Absolutely amazing. Applaud, your work on that not that the young lady appears to be lesbian. What’s the simple fact that an author went and discussed relationships have one person can like another and hearts can be broken people can still be friends you don’t have to see that in writing today, at least not in this genre no, I think we do need a further expansion on this whole guard system thing and how this really works. I hope the MC God of choice can actually really break things down for us give us a look under the hood sort of. No, I was concerned that the final encounter had figures that were so overpowering that even warriors from the famed capital couldn’t take care of them I thought that was a bit much to make them that strong that they were this in German noble force, I got where you were trying to go with it but I thought it was a bit much with them. I felt they should’ve been a little weaker beatable I guess now for any progression novel, it would be great to understand how progression will work in her case because you’re not only have the ability to meet and interact with multiple gods in her case but she can have multiple blessings from the ones she’s interacted with how will this work in her case because she could become really strong far stronger than anyone else, technically speaking, right

A good story
By about 10% of the way into the book, the story had me hooked, and I remained hooked for the rest of the book. There are quite a few fight scenes, which usually bore me, but for some reason, I didn't find myself skipping over these as I usually would. I liked the multitude of gods. (Another review criticised this aspect of the book, but it's pretty silly to buy a book like this if you don't like books with lots of gods!)This is clearly the first in a series - it would be okay-ish to start it with no intention to read the others - more so than with some series - but it's best treated as part one of a longer tale.Although, as another reviewer writes, the main character's same sex romantic inclinations might bother some people, they didn't bother me at all. I'm glad I didn't know before I started reading, be a I have deliberately not read LGBTQI+ labelled books before because of the labelling. I now think I've been missing out on good books for a bad reason! The book is well edited; there's no need to worry about coming across little errors constantly. The one negative for me is the somewhat quirky authorial voice. (I've no idea whether that is the right term!) The use of different 'voices' works quite well when they are tied to a particular character. (Part of the reason I loathe one character, as the reader should, is because of his use of language.) But the book is written using a mix of informal and highbrow words, which I sometimes found distracting. I've no idea whether anyone else will pick up on this.Final comment: it's good. Read it!

Awesome fun
This book cuts right to the chase and by about chapter three it’s all go. I don’t normally like fight scenes that much but each one felt like a little puzzle to be solved. Loved the romantic subplot too. I won’t spoil anything but I thought it was going to go another way and I was very pleased with how it worked out.

Very enjoyable
I stumbled across this while looking for more progression fantasy to fill in time waiting on other series to be added to and now I'm stuck waiting for the next book in this series.I really enjoyed the new system of magic and the way the characters progress through it. The pacing of the book was good with plenty of action and being able to see the different forms of magic in action, but with having enough time in between to develop the characters and understand the motivations and drive of the main character. Can't wait to read the next entry in the series, hopefully it's coming out soon.

Fun New Series
Fun world-building and magic system. I finished Windwalker in a weekend and I’m already looking forward to the next part of the series.

5 stars
I really enjoy the “magic system” of gods granting blessings. It’s a good story with plenty of tension. Well told.

Great characters
This isn’t my usual genre but I really enjoyed it. The characters really pulled me along. I especially liked Adessa. I’ve bought the next two now as well and looking forward to reading them

Interesting story
I was pleased to find the main character doesn't act foolish because that's one of my biggest pet peeves. She's believable as a teenager, but she is using her powers in intelligent ways and not getting hung up on dumb stuff. Excellent read!

Enjoyable read and Introduces a refreshing fantasy setting
As an occasional reader who enjoys other fantasy series that have been popularised in recent years, such as the works of Brandon Sanderson, I found Windwalker to be an exciting fantasy read that introduces an inventive magic system that caused my imagination to run wild with potential possibilities.I would definitely recommend this series to other fantasy readers, the first entry is very approachable and is sure to be worth your while.

Fun and immersive new world
It is always satisfying to get lost in a new fantasy world, and Windwalker drew me in from the start. From its heroine who is both unique and relatable, to its ingenious magic system, Windwalker is a solid, action-packed start to the series. Can't wait to see what happens next in Ciara's world!

Great story and setting
Right from the beginning I felt invested in the story and characters and just had to keep reading to find out what happens next. It had a nice complexity and kept me guessing with every twist in the plot.
