Given its length (the original lead with the solar panel is only 3m total) this has enabled us to position the solar panels wherever we need them while camping. On the roof, on the left or right, at the front.... exactly what we needed as you can never guarantee which way round to will have to park the camper! **Q: Is this item compatable with AA charger and batery maintainer**
A: Unfortunately the AA pictures don't show the connection they use, however, if you look at image number4 for this EXCELLENT extension lead, then you will see a lovely photo of an SAE end, which is a very commonly used end. An "SAE" connect is an SAE connection, in the same way that a UK 3 pin mains plug is a UK 3 pin mains plug, the name denotes a type and format. A few chargers do use their own unique ends, example Oxford Optimate motorcycle charger, but if your AA end looks like the one in this picture then yes, it'll be an SAE end. You can buy many connection types on line using this SAE plug.....eg, SAE to Ring Terminal, SAE to Cigarette plug, SAE to USB socket.....I have many of them, it's a very convenient and safe way of joining two low voltage wires where rapid disconnection or change of end / use is required.

**Q: Is this for connecting to a specific charger or can I connect positive and negative crocodile clips?**
A: You can add what you want on the ends or couple together to make up varying lengths

**Q: Will a 12ft cable charge better / quicker than a 25ft cable**
A: Short answer is no, the charge times will be about the same to within a few minutes.

Longer answer is that assuming the wire gauge is the same for both cables there will be a slightly higher voltage drop using the long cable, so the voltage at the battery terminals will be a fraction lower than what the charger is supplying.

The charge time might be a fraction longer but in practice, the state of charge of the battery and the temperature will likely make a bigger difference to charge time than the length of the cable.

This has worked a treat. Given its length (the original lead with the solar panel is only 3m total) this has enabled us to position the solar panels wherever we need them while camping. It fits perfectly well and the adapter does too, unfortunately I cannot run my charger to bike using this extension as the charger detects the extra length so won’t allow a charge. But the cable is fine it’s a me issue
