Cap solution: nasal oxygen tubing
Functionally it works very well and it's shape is really comfortable to hold and use. Now the negative: it comes with a tiny plastic sleeve which is so darn hard to put back on once removed. Unlike every other seam ripper I've owned, this one has NO cap. My solution is nasal oxygen tubing. The tubing is inexpensive, easy to cut to size with household scissors, slides on and off smoothly, and will not fall off (even when shaken rigorously upside down). It only takes 2.25" tubing to cover the entire blade. (See photo)

Cap solution
Clover makes one of the best seam rippers on the market. It's sharp, angled perfectly and the handle is comfortable. However, as many have mentioned, except for the little vinyl cover, really has no cap.My solution was the Clover Point Covers (petite size). They're designed to cover knitting needles but work perfectly to cover seam rippers, stilettos and small embroidery scissors with sharp points. In fact, I don't know why Clover doesn't include one with the seam ripper or at the very least, recommend their point covers on the packaging. So, great seam ripper but minus one star for for the necessity of looking for other options to cover the point.

Very sharp so it doesn't tug on seam
Like all Clover products this seam ripper works very well. It's sharp so when you touch it against the thread it cuts quickly. The metal is strong - it didn't break when I used it on button cord which is a pretty good test using it a lot of the time for thicker threads. The only reason I gave it 4 stars under "Easy to hold" is because I have arthritis in my hands so some tools with smaller handles are a bit harder for me to use. Clover makes a seam ripper with a round ergonomic handle with the same durable and sharp metal so I bought that one, too. It is very easy to hold with arthritic hands. I still use this one on finer work like heirloom sewing, applique, and hand embroidery. I love Clover tools!

Sharp and cheap, can't be beat!
I love these seam rippers! Nice and sharp, and inexpensive enough to replace them every year. I may have a problem losing small things in the creative clutter (cough,) so I still a hole through the handle hang it on this brightly colored shoelace! All I have to do is hang in on the designated place in my studio. Hahaha, that was a good one, right? Well, this baby never gets lost, because I just scan for one of those peace signs peeping out. Well, there's always the possibility that it's because there are 2 of them at all times- that's the beauty of the 3 pack, amirite?

It works almost as good as the Bernina seam ripper and I love handle, it's really easy to use.
I really like the seam ripper, especially the handle, but the S.R. does not come with a cover so it's difficult to store in my notions container. If I stand it up point-side down it would get dulled and if I stand it up point-side up, it would be dangerous. It's also not easy to lay in my storage box for the same reasons. It really needs a cover. My ingenious Seabee husband placed a piece of tubing over the cover and now it is safe and I feel much better about storing it.

Favorite seam ripper
I have been using Clover seam rippers for years, and they are my favorite. They are sharp, easy to hold and use and last a long time. I've never had one break, but like any other product with a sharp blade, you do need to replace them once in a while, so you'll save money buying this 3-pack and will always have a new one on hand. There is a right and wrong way to use a seam ripper. Pick out a few stitches to get started, then put the bead on the short blade in the seam and push across. Stop if you get to an area that's been backstitched, and cut those slowly. There is no harm in storing the seam ripper standing in a cup. The sharpness you need is between the blades, not the tip.

A comfortable, sharp seam ripper
I’ve recently ordered a couple of different seam rippers after misplacing one. I sew in a few different rooms so thought I would order a different one for each spot and see which was best. This one is by far the most comfortable to me. Who would have thought there would be any difference really, but the older I get, the more the little things are appreciated. This one has a little more weight than the rubber ones and is easier to hold than the skinny ones that usually come with a sewing machine. It is nice and sharp too. Did you know they get dull over time? I would buy this one again.

and the ripper blade soon went dull....
The only real advantage of this seam ripper is that it's very comfortable to hold when working on any sewing project. Far too often, seam rippers have handles that are more suitable for small hands. Not only is this one ergonomic, but it also has a small rubberized grip to aid in more steady and secure use.The major disadvantage of this Clover seam ripper is that the sharpness of the blade became dull within a few month's use. I solely used this ripper to cut through thin and regular-duty cotton and polyester threads. I fully expected this seam ripper to exceed the quality of one that might be included in a cheap sewing accessory set. Unfortunately, in this case, paying a few dollars more doesn't guarantee lasting quality.

These are very good seam rippers
I dulled my first clover ripper cutting button holes (running into the pin at the end). I have uses a blade to cut my bottoms from them on. I was sad when my clover ripper was dulled. They are very sharp and fit into my hand comfortably. This is my favourite seam ripper. The clover will cost a little extra but you get a quality product.

Great seam ripper
I have used Clover seam ripper before (with brown flat handle). The ripper is great but handle isn't for longer use. I much prefer this handle. And at this price, it's great.

Très bonne qualité et coupe les fils sans effort
J'ai décousue en un temps record une pièce de tissus à défaire. Ce coupe-fil se tiens bien en main et coupe les fils facilement. Je le recommande.
