Relatively transparent drive - sounds pretty good to me
I like the sound of this. And it was only $45 which is pretty cheap for a new pedal. It works and sounds good and so far I don't notice it producing any weird noises....what else is there. Really nice to put just a little hair on a clean tone (kind of like a tweed or bassman) Or pair it with another pedal to have light, medium and heavy drive with two small pedals. I like it paired with a mini tube screamer for a combo of overdrives. It doesn't have a big midrange boost hump like the tubescreamer. If you're space constrained and/or budget constrained, this is a pretty good choice for an overdrive. It's always subjective and drive lovers seem to try many overdrives seeking out "the one". A better choice is to pair it with an EQ pedal and you can probably get what you're after with those two pedals. No complaints. I also had a warranty issue on another CNZ pedal and they were responsive and solved the problem so that was nice to know.

Nice drive tone! Great value!! A keeper!!!
Normally I wait awhile to write a review, but the CNZ Audio Dumble style pedal was surprisingly useful near the front of my pedal chain. My best description of the tone is on the "cleaner side of overdrive" and "scoopless" if that makes any sense. This is not a chunk-chunk metal pedal but is plenty tight in that regard. The low end is rolled off too much for heavy music but seems to work well driving modulation pedals for intro's, etc. For me, the tones in this pedal get into the Steve Howe flavors of single note runs but so far performs better with my active single coils. Hot humbuckers seem too dirty for this pedal, but I will evetually test it on some hollow body P-90 guitars. Another thing I liked about this pedal is it doesn't get in the way and I don't have to fight it or wait for it, and works well for full bar chord attack. The harmonics are present but let's keep in mind it's not an unobtanium boutique pedal. Still, I think this pedal is very useful. Now, let's be realistic. It's not a real Dumble amp plus it's a mini pedal, but so far has exceeded my expectations, and for the low price, it may just be a high value winner. Whether is stays on my pedal board or not is undetermined but so far, so good.

Nothing Dumb(le) about it.
CNZ is a great little company. Any of their pedals is worth the consideration when it comes to lower budget quality gear. This dumble is one of their flagship pedals and for really good reason. It’s REALLY good. Where it shines is definitely in the low gain just breaking up perfectly when you’re strumming type of overdrive. Think indie rock with a good tele and a cleanish amp. Who knows what an actual dumble sounds like and honestly with this pedal, who cares!? This pedal sounds great and is quality and is affordable. I wouldn’t put it in the incredibly versatile category but if you’re looking for a go to cleanish but not too clean OD, you need to have this on the list and for the price you might as well just get one. You won’t be disappointed. There’s a reason it’s one of their most popular pedals and you see it on boards next to OD’s in $200 range... it does that thing it does extremely well and let’s face it folks... it’s a thing a lot of guitar players want in our rig... that light to medium, clear and controlled, full and simple yet inspiring overdrive that we can depend on as either a go to or a boost add to another OD (which it does play very well with other). Get one. You’ll use it.

... have one of this modeling amps and I really liked the "boutique overdrive" model
I have one of this modeling amps and I really liked the "boutique overdrive" model. After some research I found out that is was modeled after super expensive "dumble" tube amps. Now, I wanted to have an overdrive pedal that captured that sound. I just had purchased the CNZ fuzz and was absolutely blown away by it. By mere coincidence CNZ had a "dumble" overdrive pedal in their line. It is pretty much the sound I was looking for although I have no idea if it really captures the dumble amp sound or not. Awesome sound, nice pleasant overdrive with higher gain as well. It was not easy to find these CNZ pedals but after owning two of them for a bargain price I must say they are pretty much the best I have on my pedal board.

Too noisy, No ability to use a battery, no power supply requirements detailed
OK there is fine print that you have to order a power supply and that it is required - because there is no battery compartment to make the pedal smaller. How annoying! If that's the case, why isn't a power supply included? Why aren't there any specs on how to select a power supply that will work/fit the jack? Annoyed. Update: So the $17 adapter arrived from CNZ. I plugged in the pedal only to find an absolutely unplayable level of noise and hiss coming from the pedal. It was unusable, so I returned it. Returning the pedal was no problem, but I have to pay $3.50 postage to return the stupid adapter.

Sweet!
Really excellent pedal. I can't afford a Dumble amp, even if I could find one, but this box helps you dial in some sweet tones with just the right amount of "stank". I have experimented using it with my LP, 335, and Tele', and found the Dumble versatile for all three in regards to their different pick-ups and natural characteristics. As with other CNZ products, I find this Dumble pedal to be a excellent value and a really nice addition to any pedalboard.

Sending my MP Twimble Back!
I don't use the Dumble style sound all that much but I do like it. I just got a Mad Professor Twimble and while I really like the sound, it was too big for my board so I was looking for a smaller Dumble style mini pedal. Boy this thing is really surprising. Gets very close to the Twimble. So much so that I'm sending that back. I know it's Chinese and most likely OEM from Mooer but it sounds good, looks cool, and didn't break my piggy bank. Good Job CNZ!

Subtle, but thick and warm tone.
I own 5 overdrive pedals (only one was cheaper than this one) but this is my favorite. It is subtle but thick and warm. I don't know if it gives a true Dumble tone, I've never actually played through a Dumble (or even seen one for that matter) but I really like the effect this pedal produces.

Fantastic pedal, worth the price. I use this for getting that old school overdrive sound without buying a $150,000 Dumble amp. Unbelievable sound!
