My first rechargeable headlamp
Ive been using headlamps for years. Scouting as a kid, 12 years in the army, still fairly active backpacker/camper. Headlamps are great. I keep them all over because i always find a use. Working on a broken something in the basement? Headlamps are worth their weight in gold.BUT ive always used AA ones because i stick with what i know. I was reluctant to switch to a rechargeable headlamp. Thought I'd maybe keep it around the house, but I'd never take it backpacking because where would i charge it?? Well with my battery bank i use for my phone and gps locator. Sometimes change is good. The light diffuser is also nice on this, but I'll lose it one day. Its not needed anyway. I'm happy i made thus purchase.

Great for everyday use
This is plenty bright for digging into the back of the attic or hiking in the dark. I use it several times a week for getting additional light onto something I’m working on. Have a good diffuse light mode which works well for reading and this latest one came with a diffuser that covers all the lamps. I keep it on and prefer the more diffused light to a focused beam for most uses.My old Nitecore 550 lumen headlamp lasted several years. It still works but the switch is sliding into lamp and harder to reach. Now, it’s my backup. The new one charges with USB-C connection which is better, no need to orient the charging plug in the right direction. Nicely built, light, comfortable and very useful.

Perfect size and surprising output
The modes on this light are nearly perfect for whatever use case you my have for it. I use it for working on computers, night hikes, ac repair, car repair and anything you can think of where an extra hand is useful. It tilts and the adjustable band doubles as the head pad/sweat band. I find the flood modes the most useful and the output for those is just right. The spot modes are great on hikes and super bright.I have been a fan of Nightcore lights for almost a decade and influenced my choice in buying this light. The quality is awesome and I love the feel of this light.

Awesome head lamp!!!
This is one of the best headlamps I’ve owned. The lighting options are great. I recently took it camping and was blown away at how well it lit up where I needed. The wide light was super handy. The red light was helpful when I needed to find something in my tent in the middle of the night. Highly recommend. My only concern is battery life. In a cave and it goes out could be a problem.

It doesn’t hold out very long!
I don’t like this light because it no longer charges fully!

A little heavy.
My wife and I walk five miles daily before the sun comes up and I use the headlamp for the dark areas. I am replacing the Nitecore NU20 360 Lumens headlamp. The Nitecore NU31 550 Lumen headlamp is quite a bit heavier than the NU20. The tilting detents are not as tight as the NU20 and when I tilt it down the headlamp tends to bounce as I walk. Tightening the strap to prevent this is uncomfortable. I'm not sure it would be acceptable for a runner. I failed to mention that I like all the modes available and being able to turn it on and have it in the medium illumination mode without having to push the ON button a second time.
