Excellent functionality
This is a large capacity pitcher that filters relatively quickly, pours neatly and is simple to assemble. A few months ago I bought another brand, which was a serious failure (Invigorated Living Alkaline Water Pitcher Ionizer, 2 Long-Life Filters Included, 118 Ounces, 3.5 litres, Alkaline Filtered Water Purifier Machine, High pH Natural Filtration System, Removes Toxins, Chlorine, Enhances Immunity & Optimizes Health (Green), so many low-quality reviews that Amazon ought to be deleting them, so much more money than this PUR pitcher); hence I have a very direct comparison that supports this positive review. It's easy to use, although heavy when full, and provides very fresh-tasting water for a reasonable price; the replacement filters aren't cheap, but they don't break the bank either. This pitcher is also top-rated by The Sweethome (a NY Times Company review site). Thus far, I'm very happy with it.

Excellent water filtration pitcher-Pur CR1100CV-11 cup
After reading the reviews I decided to give this pitcher a try. I am so glad I bought it. This is the best filtering pitcher and system I have ever used. I love the size of the pitcher. Holds enough water to get thru the morning coffee brewing. As for all the complaints on how long the filter takes to fill the pitcher, I didn't find this to be true at all. I soaked the new filter for about 30 minutes and then rinsed it under running water for about 5 minutes. In no time at all the pitcher filled up. I then filled a little more without leaving any water in the top part until I refilled my Keurig. I have never had the lid fall off or any spilling. The filter has never fallen out. My suggestions would be to take your time soaking the filter and rinsing it well, making sure the filter is securely locked into the top water receptacle, and taking your time to pour the water slowly into the the coffee maker. Also be sure the lid is securely in place. I only open the little lid on top without removing the water receptacle lid when filling the pitcher at the sink. I would highly recommend this Pur water filtration pitcher and I use the Pur water filters.

Great pitcher so far
I've been using the pitcher for about a month now and it works fine. I was skeptical at first based on the reviews of how "easy" it was for the handle to break but it's really not. Breaking a handle is not as easy as people make it seem. This pitcher is large, 11 cups so of course it will be able to hold a lot of water weight. Just don't be stupid and ever SOLELY hold it by the handle because of course, at that point it's going to break. Your putting the entire weight onto the thin plastic piece. Just always use two hands to use and pour it. One hand holding the side underneath the handle and another hand on the side of the spout and when you pour, most of the weight should be on the side opposite of the pitcher from the handle. For these big pitchers, you really shouldn't be holding the actual handle ever, even with using 2 hands. Just hold underneath the handle, holding onto the actual side of the pitcher. It's very simple, it's not rocket science. Aside from that, water tastes great as well and I have had no problems with the indicator light after a month of use.[Update 2/14/19] After using this for half a year now, I have had zero problems with it. The people that broke their handle made the mistake that I mentioned above and that's the only way I could think of that would have it break so easily. After 6 months of use and not being naive in thinking that a small plastic handle could withstand the weight of an 11 cup pitcher full of water, it's still as perfect as when I purchased it. Fill it up as much as you want, just use two hands to pour if it's really heavy and keep most of the weight on the hand supporting it from the BOTTOM. If you're pouring water with one hand strictly from the handle or you're only supporting it from the top while pouring, then it's your fault that it broke to be honest. A few times, it can withstand, but if you're doing that every day then of course it's going to snap eventually.

leaves water tasting great..
My tap water has the chlorine taste to it and these solve it.....leaves water tasting great.....The reason I cant give it 5 stars is the fact That it says it will filter 40 gallons per filter but if you filter a gallon through it, then pour the same gallon of water through it again.....And repeat.....After filtering the same gallon of water maybe 35 times...the filters slow and almost completely quit filtering (drops to where it will take an hour to filter a gallon.....This happens even though its a gallon of water the filter already purified just running the same water over and over.....Which begs the question....Apparently their cartridges are rigged to plug up after a certain amount of water runs through it....And has nothing to do with whether the cartridge is full of sediment and things removed from the water or not but simply tied to the amount.....I just decided to test it out of being curious because for a filter to clog up to where it doesnt even hardly drip when its clear tap water and just filtering out the chlorine which is done in one filtering....run the same gallon back through and after about 35 to 40 the filter acts clogged up...The pitcher does make the water taste great but there is something strange when the filter clogs up like that.....Much better taste than any other water filters out there Much better than every competitor taste wise.....From Brita to Zero water....and better than all bottled stuff....The fact the filters seem rigged is the downside ....But its pennies on the dollar compared to bottled from the store....For the filters and the sketchy lifespan....If you have anything visible in the water the filters might really clog up quick. My experiment has shown somehow th filters are meant to quit after a certain volume....Rather than actually becoming contaminant clogged up. Great tasting though 4 stars for that.
