Bought for my grandson as Christmas present. He is 8 and already showing signs of being a very creative artist and he has spent many hours using these pencils during his school break. Great quality set!

I'm amazed how low the current price is on this kit. This is the second Jaking kit I've ordered (the other is the 85 piece kit oriented towards colored drawing media) and both are impressive. The quality is evident in the assortment of relevant supplies that are selected and the thoughtful construction of the case. Even the fact that every pencil was inserted with the label facing directly up shows the company cares.This kit is oriented towards sketching and has everything you need including a variety of blending stumps, 2 sharpeners (different media require different types of sharpeners), a sharpening sanding pad, a kneaded eraser (in a storage case so it won't dry out and get hard), a polymer eraser, an assortment of 16 different pastel, charcoal and graphite sticks in a plastic case (padded so they wouldn't break during their long boat ride from China), a full range of 14 pencils from 6H to 14B, 3 black charcoal pencils (hard medium, soft), 3 white charcoal pencils (hard, medium, soft), a blending brush, and a pencil extender so you can use them to the nubs. There's also a roll of texture tape - something I've never used in 50 years of sketching!This is obviously a great set (and a bargain at the current price) for beginners, but it's also good for experienced artists. In my opinion these are all good quality materials and will give good results. I'd recommend if you're new to sketching with these media search on the Tube of You for beginners videos - there's a wealth of knowledge on how to use everything in the kit presented by pro teachers for free. Now I have to search for texture tape to see how it's used! :-)I highly recommend all of Jaking's art kits - I have not found any issues to criticize in either of the two I have, and I can be a tough reviewer.

The set seems really nice. the pencils go down smoothly and feel nice to use. Unfortunately, my set was missing the 3B pencil and Sepia pastel pencil, otherwise, I love the set.

This Jaking Creart Master 58 PC Drawing Set is a fantastic beginner set. It comes with everything you need to get started with graphite / charcoal sketching. Just missing the paper! I got this for my kid but crazy heathen didn't want it. That's ok by me. I can always use more art supplies. It comes with a full set of pencils - and I mean a FULL set. It has the standard hard pencils - 2H, 4H, and 6H, along with the mid HB. From there it gives you 10 different levels of soft pencils - B all the way to 14B! Most pencil sets stop around the 6B / 8B range.It has several black and white charcoal pencils in addition to some neutral tones. It has a nice set of soft pastels. It rounds things out with a number of useful tools - pencil extender, sharpener, tortillon, kneaded eraser, etc. It comes with a Sketch Test Card, too, so you can make swatches. I think I'm going to scan the card before I use it so I can print one off whenever I need it, because it will be so awesome to not have to make my own ever again! And all of it comes bundled in this brilliant carrying case so you can literally take it where ever you need to go. The case size is approximately 9.5 x 8 x 1.5 inches. I haven't gotten into all of the supplies yet, but everything I've used so far is good stuff.

Mine had a pencil arrive broken and had a pretty bad chemical kind of smell from the casing, but overall it was a nice set.It's designed for sketching specifically so if you're looking for colors and other things like that, your best bet is to look elsewhere.For what it is though this set ended up actually being pretty decent, and would make an excellent starting set for someone, especially for the price.I haven't seen anyone else mention the smell like I had from mine so I'm thinking mine just might've been an outlier. It went away after leaving the case open for a couple days, but I'll be honest I haven't opened it since to see if the smell is still there.There is also the rare chance of a pencil or two being broken on arrival from shipping so be mindful of that as well. I only had one come snapped in half and it was an easy fix at the very least.

So many art supplies for such a low price and all very good quality. My daughter especially liked the case it comes in to easily store her art supplies. It keeps all her art supplies organized and easy to find. The eraser and the blending sticks work well. The sketch test card is a plus.
