A 2–6 inch dial caliper is a precise and easy-to-use measuring tool, ideal for medium-sized objects. Highly accurate bore gauge
I used this bore gauge to measure a 650cc motorcycle bore with a 100mm bore (big slug). I zeroed the gauge using a 3-4” inside micrometer at the 100mm dimension, and then measured the bore for wear in multiple directions. Unfortunately, my bore was egg shaped front-to-back, so I ended up getting a new cylinder and keeping the old cylinder for an oversize bore in the future. But the gauge removed any doubts, and was well worth the small cost.
