Johan Cruyff: Always on the Attack

Brilliant analysis of a complex character.
A fantastic insight into a brilliant footballer, but also a complex and seemingly troubled character. The research and interviews undertaken by the author make this a fascinating read but also an indepth analysis of all that this footballer achieved throughout his career, with a rare insight into why he made the decisions he did and for many why he is the father of modern day football. A well-organised, chronological analysis of this great man.

Not Bad
Not a bad read but the translation leaves a lot to be desired, which manifests itself in quite a bit of strange/awkward phraseology.

Like how in-depth writer went on Cruyffs incredible life and career. Five star read.

Very good indeed
This is a huge improvement on Cruyff’s posthumously published autobiography, a really terrible book. This gives a properly rounded warts ‘n’ all portrait of a very complicated man. Awkward in the extreme, incredibly argumentative, obsessed by money, but what a footballer.Only downside is some clunky translation. ‘Umpiring’ is not a term used in football, and Ajax reserves are oddly referred to as ‘Ajax 2’.

The best biography on Cruyff.
This is the best biography yet in the English language. It attempts to unravel the full complexity of Johan Cruyff. As such, it is unflinching in its honesty and genuinely touching in its manner of storytelling.Cruyff is the greatest player in the European pantheon, this book tells you why.
