Nextmug - Temperature-Controlled, Self-Heating Coffee Mug (Burgundy - 14 oz.)

2nd UPDATE: It is now April 2026. A sad day. It seems that the mug no longer heats up, even when sitting on the charger. Time to be replaced. Total lifespan was just about 2.5 years for anyone looking to purchase.UPDATE: It is now May 2025. About a month ago, I noticed that the mug no longer held a charge after about 5 min. I sit near my coaster all day anyway (desk job) so I just kept it on the coaster and it was fine. Unlike the Ember mug I had, this still kept things hot while on the charger. But now I'm also noticing it seems to auto shut-off after about an hour or two, so I have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't turn off. I'm a sipper so, yes, I do take hours to drink a mug of whatever!***************I purchased this mug in Nov of 2023 and wanted to give it a good, long use before reviewing. I had previously gotten and used another, more expensive electric mug which is sold in all the stores at Christmas time. With THAT mug, you could set the temp of your mug via their app to a specific number and that was nice so I didn't expect to like this mug as much. But with the other mug, the coating inside the bottom wore off in about 6 months from stirring and after about a year, it really didn't keep my drinks piping hot anymore. With THIS mug, I use the middle (of the 3) setting, "hot" and it is piping hot for me. The hottest, "piping" is too hot (I used the max number on the previous mug to get it to the heat level I wanted). I have also not had a circular path appear on the inside bottom of this mug. And, a year later, it is still going strong. CAVEAT: I do keep it on its coaster the whole time and sip as I work (it takes me hours to drink a mug of something)... when I happen to be up and take my mug, without the lid, the charge lasts on HOT for about an hour. Maybe 90 min with the lid on. I am still quite satisfied! The previous mug's charger was concave and this one is convex, so I just had to get the hang of placing it on the charger correctly without it toppling over, but that was an easy adjustment. Both mugs are heavier than a standard mug (obviously - there is a battery in the bottom!) but I got used to their weight. I am very happy with my Nextmug and would buy it again!!

Great products, Great company awesome customer service.Keeps my coffee hot. No need for an app. Simple, straight forward to use. The lid fits snugly and they offer travel lids. (All lids and bases are interchangeable) I've had it for 18 months and It stopped charging and i contacted company. They got back right away and helped me troubleshoot. Turned out one of the charging pins broke off. They sent me a new base. These days it's rare to to find a company that stands by their product especially after 18 month. Love this Colorado company. I've now Ordered a travel mug and a mug for my sister straight from their site as they were on sale. They have beautiful new colors in the 14 Oz. MugsI've tried the ember and another from Amazon and didn't like either.

My wife and i both purchased Nextmug’s about 12 months ago. We were initially a bit skeptical since we had previously used two other very popular brands with disappointing results (didn’t keep coffee hot for more than 15 minutes and battery died after a few months). I am very happy to report that the Nextmug has far exceeded our expectations. The coffee stays hot for 45 minutes (as stated on the packaging) and is very easy to care for. My wife noticed recently that the mug was only keeping the coffee hot for 10 minutes and the customer service team at Nextmug is sending us a brand new mug. They are determined to keep their customers happy. I would highly recommend the Nextmug to anyone looking for a self heating coffee mug.

I bought this one for my husband and so far it is working great. It’s the second one we purchased. We have had the first one (mine) for almost a year. Keeps coffee hot.Mine will now only turn on if the mug is set on the charging disc for a moment and then turned on. It then shows a full battery and can be instantly taken off of the charger. If the temperature is changed to another setting while off the charger, the mug will shut off, or if the mug sits for any amount of time it will also shut off even though it still has full, or near full, charge. I was able to get it to work for a small amount of time by doing the reset process of holding the power button down for 5 to 10 seconds on each of the settings (once the mug was turned on by the charging disc) and advancing to the next setting, but then it would go back to doing the same thing it was doing before after a short bit. It has worked for the longest amount of time once I left it on the piping setting and let the coffee mug heat up all the way and then shut it off so far it will still turn on every now and then.We have let the company know this and they have been very responsive to the emails. Hopefully if you have these same issues this will help. The mugs are made very nice and mine still looks like new. I do think they could be a little cheaper on the price though. I would have purchased for Christmas gifts if they weren’t so expensive. Super easy to use when they work and hold a charge very well if you don’t want it on piping all the time. piping is SUPER hot lol. It is very true to its name lol.

*Update* - I've had this mug now officially 2 years. It was starting to lose some battery life and I had a few issues with it. I contacted Nextmug to get some advice and assistance and after answering a few questions they are sending me a replacement mug. Their customer service is stellar. Their product is fantastic, but if anything goes wrong, it seems they will do whatever they can to make it right. Best purchase I've ever made -and I would make it again. This mug works well, keeps coffee hot for an hour or two. It's a little heavy, but not much more than a ceramic mug. The controls are simple, and the three heat settings are sufficient for a good range of preferences. After a year my mug stopped charging, and the company did a warranty replacement quickly. Now after two years with the replacement, the same thing happened. Two years of use for about an hour once a day is a fair service cycle, I suppose, but not what I would expect from a $100 item. That's my only complaint about it.

I read the instructions and plugged in the charging coaster, which already had two green lights and charged it until it was fully charged at three green lights which took a while. The directions were confusing to read. But it wasn’t until I actually used the mug that I was able to understand them. I was also concerned about the length of time I could leave the charging coaster plugged in for charging. I went online and ask customer service whether the charging coaster could be left charging overnight, but never heard back from them. But I figured if the charging coaster could be left on indefinitely according to the instructions when drinking coffee at any temperature, I could charge it overnight. The charging coaster didn’t get hot nor did the plug.The first time I used the mug I had it on warm uncovered, which was the perfect temperature for me. My 1st cup of coffee stayed warm for just under two hours. For what I paid, I was not happy and thought about returning the mug. I chose this type of coffee mug because I need to use it without the charging coaster. So I tried again and followed the directions, using what I learned from my first cup of coffee. Pulsing lights, heating up, pulsing lights cooling down. There are pictures and few words, but I figured it out by just using the mug.For my second cup of coffee I did use the lid. I prefer not using lids, but it made sense not to lose heat. Warm is the perfect temperature for my coffee and it stayed warm for about four hours. Yah!The next test was finding out what would happen if I added coffee to the coffee left in the mug. (I make French press coffee and it doesn’t stay hot for long,). When I added the coffee, the light started pulsing letting me know it was heating the coffee. Okay! And it did and it was perfect and didn’t take long.The final test was a cup of tea. I made the tea in the mug and set the temperature to warm. Pulsing lights again but this time to let the tea cool down!!!One of the reviews I read before purchasing the Nextmug mentioned that the coffee tasted better. For me it’s that first sip of coffee that’s the best. But with the Nextmug all the sips taste like the first sip. It took me by surprise. Same temperature and same wonderful flavor from start to finish.I love this mug and highly recommended it. But it is a little pricey.

This mug was a 2023 Christmas present to my wife as she loves her coffee to be hot and stay hot.At first this product was perfect. We even bought a second base so she could have hot coffee no matter where in the house she was. For the first year, all was good.Then, just after Christmas 2024, the mug failed, out of warranty by days. It would keep the coffee warm if on the base, but the moment it was removed, it would start cooling, as if the battery was kaput. Reading the reviews, it seems that this was not unusual-- the mug would fail in about a year. Similar problems are reported elsewhere as well. It seems pretty clear that there was some kind of defect in the 2023 version of the product.I contacted the company through their online form in early January 2025, but given that this product is made in China and that the company, Nextboom, is clearly a small outfit, I was not optimistic. And, I never received any response.But then, towards the end of January, we realized that the credit card with which we paid may have actually doubled the warranty. So we decided to pursue that. To submit the claim, we needed to document what a repair or replacement would cost so, I once again contacted the company.But this time, the response was totally different! Although the mug was slightly out of warranty, the representative, Kaitlyn, immediately responded and after clarifying the mode of failure, initiated a warranty replacement, which arrived within a few days. (It may have helped that we live less than 50 miles from where the company is located in Boulder, CO)The new mug works well and seems to have an even better battery life than the first one did. It's also a slightly different size and shape than the first one was.So, although I have no way to be sure, I suspect there was a product defect that has now been corrected. As a result, and because of the perfect response of Nextboom's customer service, I can offer a recommendation for this product without reservation. I guess time will tell if I'm correct, but for now, we could not be more satisfied.

Was man zusätzlich angeben sollte, wäre, dass man noch einen Europastecker-Adapter kaufen muss, da der Stromstecker in der USA-Norm geliefert wird. Die Tasse selbst ist sehr wertig und hält lange warm, so wie beschrieben.

After 15 month the mug would no longer keep heating and Nextmug offered to send replacement even outside warranty.

Received product. Did not know needed Uk adapter for plug-should be in description. Otherwise would give 5 stars. However mug is fantastic. I set it on ‘hot’- lasts hours with cover on. Love this product.
