Cute illustrations and a fun story that kids will enjoy
Cute illustrations and a fun story that kids will enjoy. Leaves out the scene from the movie where Chewbacca roasts a couple of porgs and then gets guilted out of actually eating them, so it's a bit inconsistent with the movie that way ... but that's probably a good thing, to be honest, because I hated that scene in the movie. I prefer porgs as friends, not food. Anyway, the best thing about the book is the illustrations. Fiona Hsieh is a very talented artist, and I love how well she drew the expressions on the characters' faces. Conclusion: if you're a Star Wars fan and you have kids, get the hardcover version (and maybe a couple of toy porgs to go with it), but if you don't have kids then the Kindle version is adequate.

This is the cutest kids' book Star Wars has ever released
This book is adorable. The illustrations are gorgeous, the story is sweet, and it is just so full of porgs. My kid and I have read it at least five times, and we've only had it a day.If you have a child who loves wookies, porgs, or Star Wars you really can't go wrong here. It is sincerely my favorite Star Wars book for kids, and we have a ton of them. I couldn't recommend it more.Just look at the attached pic from the dust cover of a porg on Chewbacca's head. That in and of itself should be enough for anyone to buy this book.

Cute Story For Little Star Wars Fans
This book takes the sub-story in The Last Jedi about the Porgs and Chewbacca on the planet Ahch-to. However, it has been sanitized quite dramatically to make it appear the Chewie and the Porgs had become fast friends. They leave out the fact that Chewie looked at them like chickens- and actually roasted one for dinner. If your kids are into the strict story line of the Star Wars movie then this book may be an abomination. BUT- if your kids just really like Porgs and Chewie then they will enjoy the focus on these two figures.Porgs are curious, cute little sea-birds that tend to create some potential problems for Chewie but this book wraps up their adventure nicely for young readers.

Bought on a lark, has become a family favorite book
This family is big into Star Wars and I am ironically-non-ironically big into porgs, so I got this on a whim for Star Wars day this year. Turns out everyone in the family has been completely won over by the beauty of the art and the charming, funny, heart-warming story. It's super fun for our 1st-to-2nd grader to read herself, with just the right amount of word spacing to move things along and help her feel accomplished, while being peppered with larger words to challenge her.

Cute Kids Book with Gorgeous Art!
Kevin Shinick and Fiona Hsieh's "Chewie and the Porgs" tells the story of Rey and Chewbacca's time on Ahch-To from the perspective of the Porgs. The story focuses on Chewie's interactions with them, building on some of the humor in "The Last Jedi" and showing how a Wookiee bonded with these funny little birds. It has lessons about understanding others and empathy, which will make it a good read for children, while Hsieh's art is simply gorgeous and evokes the natural beauty Rian Johnson used in the film. A good book for Star Wars fans to read to their little Padawans.

Porgs were cute. They played with Chewbacca. Chewbacca learned a valuable lesson.
Great for first-grader. This is the only book I could get my son to read today. Kept the interest up all the way thru.

Beautiful literature for the youngest Porg fans
The porgs are quite popular with our kids, so this book made a great birthday present. The art is very appealing and the story reads well. Our youngest one loves to point out where all the porgs are hiding.(spoiler: note that other than in the movie, Chewie although very hungry, doesn't eat porg)
