Kingavon BB-OR103 5-Fin 500W Mini Oil Filled Radiator

This little oil-filled heater is designed to warm a small room but I use it on a timer to come on for four hours in the middle of the night in a very large bedroom. The room felt less chilly even when the outside temperature was minus 16 degrees. It has its own thermostat (not a roomstat) and so it goes on and off when it gets hot enough. As it uses less than 500 watts this feature must make it even cheaper to run. Ideal for keeping the bedroom of an elderly person that bit warmer rather than leaving the central heating on all night. It is much stronger built than I expected and altogether I am delighted with it as it has solved a real problem inexpensively. It is readily portable with simple controls. Promptly delivered also.

Only bought to put in our motorhome when icy to keep the pipes from icing up and it work great, when it reached the temperature you set it would cut off and start again when dipped below

Kingavon 500W was more than adequate for my box room office. Lightweight and about 35cmx22cmx10cm. The red neon indicates when the heater is thermostatically on. Ive noticed a couple of times, that the overheat safety cutoff sometimes kicks in on a high thermostat setting. However, it soon resets itself on cooling off (safer it cuts out than not!), and operation returns to normal. Simple to operate and silent (no annoying ticking timers!). Bargain for £23 delivered.

Good price, heats the room and nice size. My big concern with this is that it's switch makes too much noise on constant. When left on it constantly switches off and on, which is fine and like every other radiator, but the clicking noise is annoying! otherwise good price.

The pictures don't show just how small this heater is, but it's tiny. And EXACTLY what I wanted. I needed a compact, safe heater to take the chill off when camping. It's never going to really warm you up, but for that I have a fan heater which does a great job. I bought this to use overnight to just take the edge off the chill without drying us out or cooking us.For a small area like our tent it's great. In bigger areas I think it would probably struggle, but I would imagine its great for a greenhouse, shed etc and excellent for camping. Very eased indeed.

Adding my negative review to several others... I bought the item in January (2016) and used it until the end of March as a small office heater. It worked just fine for low level background heating. Several weeks ago I noticed an oil stain on the piece of wood I have underneath it (protecting the carpet). The oil seems to be leaking very slowly from the area where the cable goes into the first element. The return period is only one month so unfortunately I can't exchange it or get a refund. It was 19GPB so not a great expense but a shame to throw in the bin due to poor quality. I can't imagine buying another one (for next winter) would be a good idea now. Real shame ... avoid this one and look for another brand!
