Dependable, Affordable Solution
We have several of these for stored hard drives as part of a rotating backup system. I have not tried any other cases in the last several years, and now that we have these, I won't need to.Pros:* Affordable* Color selection* Great drive protection* Feel sturdy* Stack and interlock very well* Barcode stickers have easy-remove adhesive. No residue!* Labels are in logical locations and orientation* Drives don't shift around inside casesCons:* Labels can't be easily replaced or reused. They are glued or stuck on and there are no slots for inserting a new label. The labels are just smaller than standard Post-it® notes.* (Possible, unverified) I am worried the snap connector may wear down after frequent use. With our usage, this isn't a concern. This style of plastic closure, however, does have a tendency to wear out on most other products.Overall, I think this is a great product for most use scenarios. If you intend to constantly use the cases (open/closing the latch frequently), I would advise caution regarding the locking mechanism. If you need to re-label multiple times (it has 5 rows), I would look at other products. Additionally, I would perform some moisture and humidity tests before risking any data in those conditions.

false advertising
Can't say if I got a fake, or if the original manufacturer has just gotten much cheaper. Product I got is not quite as pictured. It's also not water proof, not dust proof, and not static dissipative. For these falsities, I take off 2 stars from what should be a 5 star product. That said, I will buy it again. It's pretty fantastic even without those features and with the slightly different molding than pictured.

Pretty much just what i needed, simple but effective bare drive storage
Buying external drives doesn't make sense to me anymore, so i have docks and bare drives. Why not just store the bare drives as is?Bare drives weren't mean to be stored on the shelf, especially for long periods. They are prone to moisture, dust, bugs, spills, falling, etc... So the obvious need is a shell for them to live in.Design:-It's all one piece of plastic, the hinge being just a thing flexible plastic. That's definitely the weakest link, but i don't get the impression it will break. Inside it's just bare plastic, and inside the top of the lid is a bit of foam. I don't think that foam is there as a shock absorber, as much as it's there just to ensure the drive is held snugly in place. Keep in mind it's not expected that you're going to start throwing this thing around, you should still treat your drives with care.-Then on the outside you have labels facing in several directions, so you can easily mark what's inside.-And then there's a feature which i'm on the wall about. Each case can stack horizontally onto one another, because they put on the front of every case a lifted groove, and on the back, a recessed groove. So they kind of lock into each other. Not a bad idea if you want to store these like that. But i prefer to store them on the side, lid top facing out, and in that case, this groove makes it annoying to try and just pull one drive out. It isn't a huge annoyance, and just leaving some space between them or even a piece of paper between them solves it, but a consideration nonetheless.Quality:Feels like the good kind of plastic, not one that's going to crack for no reason. And a good thickness of it as well, i'm reassured that should an accident happen, this will protect my drive. Keeping realistic of course, if the drive drops out of a 3rd story building, i'm expecting tragedy. This isn't going to replace a pelican hard case with full inside foam. One last thing to note is that there isn't a seal around the opening, so this isn't water tight. There is however a lip, so it's very unlikely a splash of water is going to get inside. Again, these cases aren't for those wishing to abuse their drives, if you want to play waterpolo with your drives, get a pelican.

Complete junk. I ordered two of these, one ...
Complete junk. I ordered two of these, one arrived with the locking tab cracked and barely hanging on. The other is OK but I can tell it's made of a different and I'm sure much cheaper plastic than the one I bought several years ago from a local Micro Center. These things should sell for half the price given their sh!tty quality.

Good case, low price
The hard disks are piling up in my office, and I'm not comfortable leaving them lying around naked with my data, so now they live in these cases. The cases fit standard 3.5" drives like a glove, stack nested flat, sit neatly on shelves oriented like books, and they also fit into a Pelican 1510 case I customized the padding within, in case I need to transport to a job site, move, or head for the hills when The Big One hits. (I can fit 15 drives into the Peli case with a modified padding system.)Only two wishes: that the little piece of foam on the lid interior which keeps the drive pressed securely into place when the lid is closed were on the bottom of the case instead, so when I slide the drive into the case it wouldn't smack the unpadded bottom; and that the hinge appeared more likely to last. I just know the thin, narrow, single layer hinge will be the first thing to break after X period of use and repeated opening/closings.Other than that, a good case.

For the price this is a good case
I wavered between a four or five star. This case is a hard shell and as far as I know would protect against what it claims to protect against. I am able to slip my drives into the case in the anti-static bag, though I don't know if that is necessary. However I am uneasy trusting that this would protect against a lot of vibrations, such as in a backpack with books, or riding in an RV over rough roads. I've since ordered another set of cases for travel and carrying, that are padded with memory foam, for peace of mind. These will still be good to store drives in my safety deposit box or elsewhere. Since I haven't put the drive and case in any situation other than on a stable shelf, I can't judge how much protection there is for rougher handling. It wouldn't be fair to give it less than five stars, especially considering the reasonable cost.
