UPDATE: having a functioning product and using it correctly makes all the difference!
UPDATE:OK, so the company reached out to me and reported that their response to me was delayed due to a fault in their system on their end. The person I worked with was more than fair in their solution, and ultimately replaced the original cup I had which was leaking. So I have raised the review from 3 stars to 5 because of the following-Once the company reached out, their customer service was excellent and they got a replacement product out QUICK.-The replacement product worked as expected (ie, doesn't leak.)-The mixing really does work super well WHEN MIXING PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. I'll point out that the difference between "mason jar" quality mixing and "it really doesn't need a mixing ball because there's no clumps left" is whether you are adding water and then protein powder (which I was already doing), and holding the cup vertically when mixing (which I was not previously doing).-All of the positive things from the review below remain, including being super easy to clean, nice wide mouth to pour powder in, feels well made, etc etc etc.All in all, this is my first mixer cup (so you can take that into context as well), but I am glad that I purchased this as it totally satisfied my desire to have something simple/easy to clean, quiet, and effective for mixing protein powder.Original review below with updated edits in brackets:As a bit of context for this review, this is my first shaker bottle. I exercise from home, so I don't need to travel with it, and I also exercise before anybody else is awake in the house, and didn't want something noisy. Previously, I was using a mason jar w/o a mixer to mix a whey blend protein powder. I don't have a ton of experience with protein powders at this point, but do know that this tends to clump more than some others I've tried. I wanted to try a mixer bottle that had a wider mouth, but didn't want to mess with a widget inside that needed to be cleaned. I'm lazy like that. So as I provide a narrative summary for this review I will be outlining my thoughts on the "about this item" bullet points for this item, and I am generally going to be comparing this to a standard, run of the mill mason jar.In reverse order:Leak proof guarantee. [the company eventually reached out and send a proper product that doesn't leak, so the remainder of this becomes for history only] This seems to be faulty on two notes. First, yes, it does leak (or at least mine does). That's the first thing I noticed about this product, and I initially thought I was missing a gasket, but I see now that Helimix claims that a gasket is not needed. Well, I can't say that to be true based on the product I was sent. I did reach out to the company via the channels suggested, and haven't heard back (it's been almost a week) [it ultimately took 8 days for them to reach out to me, but they stated they didn't get the original message]. I realize this can take time, but Amazon has already sent a followup email asking whether my problem has been resolved, and as I haven't heard from Helimix, it hasn't. So I wouldn't say it's leak free, and I wouldn't say that they are making sure that they are resolving issues (or at least if they will, they haven't yet). At this point I'm just trying to tighten it as much as I can (much more than I would expect that I'd need to) and sort of hoping for the best. This does help, though it makes me wonder whether there will be longevity of the lid. I will say that the amount of tightening necessary to reduce leaking makes it hard to unscrew, as the cap doesn't have any traction on the outside for grip. In fairness, after about a month of frequent use, the mason jar might have leaked twice. But so far, it seems that the mason jar edges out the helimix for this.Durable and easy to clean. I would say this is true. The product seems sturdy throughout, and while I haven't stress tested it in any meaningful way (aside from VERY firm tightening/untightening), it seems like it won't be falling apart any time soon. It does seem easy to clean as well. I don't travel with this cup, so I tend to rinse it right away and I haven't noticed any areas where powder tends to clump that I can't get to when it comes to cleaning (more to come on that). Before ordering I had some concerns that the powder would get caught in the lid, however the inside of the lid is domed and there's nowhere for the powder to get caught there, and the mouthpiece is large enough to clean inside so there's no issues there. I like the very wide mouth, as I can fit my hand to the bottom with a washcloth. If the mason jar I have were wide mouthed, I think it would potentially be a draw for various reasons, but I like how the helimix is big where it needs to be to make cleaning easy vs the "standard mouth" mason that I can't fit my hand into.Odor Resistant. I can't speak to this. As stated, I wash (or at least rinse) this immediately after use, so I don't really give it a chance to sit and absorb. It doesn't smell yet, but it's only been about a week. The mason jar didn't smell either. So a tie I guess.Superior Supplement Mixing. [having a product that seals correctly AND me mixing correctly, ie vertically, made all the difference... and yes, it mixes beautifully! The design of this cup really is clever and effective!] OK, this is a tricky area to speak on. In the packaging itself there aren't any instructions for use, though one wouldn't expect it needs to be any more complicated than "throw in the stuff, close and shake." I do know from limited experience that it's best to add the water THEN the powder, so I've been doing that. Now somewhere online it also suggests to shake the cup VERTICALLY, as this allows the shape of the cup do whatever the shape of the cup is supposed to do. Unfortunately, I haven't yet tested it in that way, as I have some real concerns about where the contents of the cup will end up if I do that. Instead, I've been shaking it downward into the sink, so at least I'm controlling where leaks go. So if I'm not taking advantage of the "technology" of the cup by shaking it correctly, it's a bit hard to tell whether I can fairly assess it's ability to mix. If shaking it vertically was also super important, I kind of wish that bit of information was clearly communicated inside or on the packaging rather than only somewhere online. That said, my inclination is to say that it "probably" does a better job than the mason jar... maybe? In both cases, it involves some shaking, some looking into the cup/jar to see whether I can see chunks, some more shaking, and so forth. In the end, some days there's a chunk left over, and some days there aren't. Sometimes there's a little unmixed powder hiding in the mouthpiece, and sometimes it comes out totally clean. I haven't really figured out the magic of consistent and completely blended results yet. I feel like it maybe takes less shakes with the Helimix, but I have to say that my experience of shaking them are different as I sort of walk around and shake the mason jar absentmindedly, and I shake the helimix rather purposefully into the sink as I watch for leaking. Maybe a slight edge to the helimix, but if I'm shaking it "wrong" due to shaking it upside down into the sink, then maybe it's not a fair comparison. No shaking accessories needed. [True! When tested with a whey protein isolate, as well as a whey protein isolate blend, no blender ball or "excessive shaking" is required to get a completely mixed shake.] As a stickler for the word "need," I'd argue this is true. It isn't NECESSARY, and wasn't in the mason jar either. They both mix the contents without a widget. If it's not mixed, just keep shaking. Not much to say here, as neither thing needs one, or at least they both function about the same without one.So pros and cons... [With a proper/non-leaking cup, I have to say that for me it's all pros! Absolutely an upgrade from a mason jar. So if it leaks, contact the company, and when you shake it, make sure it's vertically as this totally matters!] The Helimix seems well made, mixes well enough I guess (though my ability to use the product as they recommend it is hindered by the leaking), I love the wide mouth both for pouring mix in and access for cleaning, and it IS easy to clean (which was one of my main concerns before purchase). That said, the fact that it leaks is disappointing, especially since it's guaranteed not to, and more so when coupled with lack of outreach from the company to address my concerns after I've inquired for help with this issue. I'm hopeful that the company will reach out at some point and either tell me what I'm doing wrong (do there need to be tips/tricks for screwing a cap on?), or that I have a faulty product. If nobody outreaches however, I may end up trying to return/refund this and just buy a wide mouth mason jar.

Very good shaker bottle with one flaw
This bottle actually mixes much better than a shaker bottle with a mixing ball. Slightly better quality, looks better, easier to clean. One complaint is the lid. Similar to my old shaker bottle, it leaked day one when trying to shake. Still overall the best shaker bottle I’ve ever owned which is why it got 5 stars.

Awesome Bottle
Really nice bottle. So glad I got it. Only been day one but I love how it works. Left no powder or clunks. The fact that there's no shaker ball to clean up and the results are better and less effort required. I would highly recommend than the traditional bottles with a shaker ball or a portable electric mixer. I hear a lot of leakage so I can't comment on that yet. Hasn't seen it yet. But only day one.[UPDATE]So, after having it for only a week I fully encourage anyone to get this. The fact that it requires no shaker ball to get the protein to fully mix is pretty amazing. Maybe it's because I didn't get cheap protein powder. But nonetheless, this does an amazing job. And easy to clean too. Good stuff for the price.

It really does the job
I was skeptical... had been using the same blender bottle for several years and it was just beat to hell, when I saw this their video talked me into trying it out. It WORKS!!! Not keeping up with that damn ball is already amazing. The plastic is nice and heavy because of the wide mouth it's MUCH easier to clean. This thing blends better than any bottle I've owned. Looks cool too... love the vibrant colors on the lids!

The Shaker Bottle to End All Shaker Bottles
This product is genuinely fantastic. It is truly best in class, though my unit seems to be suffering from a few small drawbacks. I know some other reviewers had previously mentioned issue with the top not opening all the way, however it is pretty clear that they are not opening the lid the entire way. while you will meet some resistance at 90 degrees, you need to push the top back to the full 180 degree to fully open it. I really am unsure why they were not able to realize this, as I took approximately 30 seconds to figure that out.PROs:- No Shaker Ballthis makes it incredibly easy to clean, and even easier to use. I am someone who frequently loses small pieces and parts so this TRANSFORMED my shaker bottle experience. The ability to simply pour my water and drink mix into the bottle is incredibly easy and very intuitive.- Strong Mixing Ability -While I will admit that I was slightly skeptical at first, I have to admit that this shaker bottle is EXTREMELY powerful, perhaps the most powerful I have ever used. I never have any clumping at the bottom of the bottle, even when attempting to mix even the toughest of pre-workout mixes (which traditionally struggled in many of my previous shaker bottles). In addition, I have never found that it takes an unreasonable amount of shakes to properly mix the powder into drinks. Typically, with vigorous shaking, it only requires maybe 30-45 seconds to get the powder completely mixed and clump free.- Easy to clean -This is, perhaps, the Helimix's greatest strength. To clean this bottle is incredibly simply, and requires almost no thought. Simply open the bottle and mix dish soap with hot water for a minute and I find that this bottle is thoroughly cleaned. In addition, simply open the lid and scrub with soap/water and the lid is clean. I no longer worry about spending countless hours scrubbing and rinsing the shaker ball in most bottles to remove every last little particle of previous drinks. Now I simply clean the bottle and its set.CONs*:*To preface this list of cons, these issues might only exist within my own specific unit and may not be an issue of the product as a whole.- Leaking While Shaking - I am unsure of why this is happening, but when I am mixing with this bottle I find that I have a small amount of liquid which leaks out onto my hands, no matter how much force I apply onto the lid or the cap. It really isn't a large amount of fluid, but it is enough that I have to wash my hands whenever I am done mixing the drink. To make this issue even stranger, I do not see any leaking while this bottle is sitting. The product only seems to leak while it is being shaken, even with extra attention paid towards holding down the lid and the cap.- Lingering Smell / Taste - I also have found that my unit seems to retain a lot of the smell and flavor of the previous drink mix I have used within that bottle. To be clear, I am not mixing some extremely strong drink mixes here. Even with mixes like lemonade or Gatorade, I am finding that the taste and smell seem to linger. No matter how many times I have tried to wash out the bottle with a variety of dish soaps, this bottle still seems to retain the smell and the taste of the drink which was previously mixed within it. Not a major issue, however it can be kind of annoying when you mix two different drinks with flavors that dont mesh well together (i.e. if Peach-Mango lingers into Orange-Vanilla).OVERALL:As a whole, I would give this product 5 stars if not for the leaking and the lingering smell issues which my specific unit seems to suffer from. To be clear, even with those flaws, this product is definitely the best shaker bottle on the market, and I can not recommend a purchase highly enough. You will not regret it!

Durable and leak proof
I recently purchased this Vortex Shaker, and I am thrilled with its performance. The vortex mixing technology ensures that my protein shakes and smoothies are thoroughly blended and free from lumps. The durable construction and leak-proof design make it perfect for both home use and on-the-go. The bottle is easy to clean, and the measurements on the side help with accurate portioning. Overall, it has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable shaker bottle for their drinks.
