Drama starring Milla Jovovich as the girlfriend of a ruthless drug dealer who attempts to strike out on her own, only to find that it isn't easy to shake the grip of the most dangerous man in the city. Kat (Jovovich) is a beautiful bad girl whose hunger for danger has led her down a dark path in life. Despite having her every move dictated by her dope-slinging boyfriend, Big Al (Angus MacFadyen), Kat longs take her fate in her own hands. Now, as Kat begins to make her own deals on the street, Big Al's right-hand man (Stephen Dorff) professes that his feelings for the increasingly independent moll run much deeper than she ever suspected. As tensions flair and jealousy seethes, Kat and her newfound sidekick make a plan to take down Big Al, and do whatever it takes to claim his valuable territory.

ok...
There isn't a lot to the story and it is generally as expected. Whilst the underlying topic is serious - domestic violence (ok - between a gang boss and his girlfriend) - it has been done in a very light hearted almost humorous way in places. Im not too sure the style was a good fit, with the light hearted element trivializing the more serious underlying topic. Milla was great, but otherwise I would avoid unless there is nothing better to watch.

Really not very good at all
Borderline one star, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Mila is good, in that the dialogue to camera pieces show she can really act. But the movie overall is weirdly 'made for TV'-like. It feels like a movie from the '80s in its visual style and direction β dated, naive and overall unbelievable.Couldn't make it all the way though. One to avoid, sadly.

If you love Milla Jovovich - Give it a GO
I agree with Amy Lee's review, Milla Jovovich is always watchable; on my part not her best film, but a fantastic body and as they say in Yorkshire she cleans up well. Some times less dialogue is better, some scenes are better worked than others, only at the end does she have that trade mark look! If anything the last end track on the closing credits is the star... I've listened to it many times!

An intense drama
An intense drama. Amazing performances by Jovovich and Macfadyen. An excellent storyline which relied purely on the amazing quality of acting ability, without a need for a musical score to guide or prompt emotional response. Possibly in my top 10.

Unknown gem
Be advised that this film is told in flashback narrative, so the ending is obvious. Nonetheless, full-on performances by the two leads, and a couple of cracking turns by the main supporting cast, lift this low budget crime caper above many that are considered superior. Fans of Jovovitch will not be disappointed, and those who remember Angus as The Bruce in 'Braveheart' will get to see another side of this versatile British actor, who is well-used in the USA, though rarely seen in his homeland. At under four quid, you can't go wrong.
