IKAPEWDT Tools, Espresso Stirrer Distribution Tool, Tamper for Barista (51/54/58MM)

Love the stand and the look. Works just like you need it too. We have a Breville Barista and it fits right on top and looks good with it!

By far the bear WDT I had, worth the extra bucks over the cheap ones.Its hard to replace pins but other than that I am super happy with it.It has great quality, it looks beautifuk with the stanf and it distributes my coffee and breaks all the clumps as my grinder is not the best.

Before purchasing this WDT, I had a pretty hefty one that I used. Obviously the old one broke and I purchased this one. Upon arrival I was questioning whether this WDT would do the job. After using it a few times, I found that it would do the job once I 'dialed' in the correct needles and shape. Took some fiddling around as the needles, when you change them, are more an exercise in patience. But once they are in, and in the correct configuration, the WDT performs as well as any WDT should. It took some time to get use to the size, weight, and shape, but once I got over that initial impression I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality and functional WDT. It's heavy enough to break up the grounds and small enough to stow out of the way if one is limited in space. The magnet is a good addition to store out of the way and keep it clean. Good quality, good materials, and function. Just wish it came with more of the needles I use, but that's what they have places to purchase more....

So far so good! Right out of the package, this tool comes ready to go. The installed needles are thin and flexible but it comes with additional needle sizes (0.25mm replacement and 0.4mm) so you can adjust to your liking. I find the default size (0.25mm) is perfect. It stirs the espresso nicely and creates really fluffy grounds without leaving channels/gaps.The adjustability of the needle angle is great. I love being able to go narrow or wide.The construction of the body is solid and feels well made.Lastly, the stand and ability to dock it on the stand with the magnets is a nice touch.Overall, I'm loving this tool. Looking forward to trying more rooms from IKAPE.

For some reason I was thinking this was all plastic, but it's metal, even the stand! Comes with extra needles, which is nice, but I'm not sure why they included the .4 ones as well. This replaces a WDT tool I bought a few years ago when I got my breville, which had larger diameter needles, and this does a MUUUUCH better job than that one does. Very happy with this purchase, for the price it's a pretty decent deal compared to other brands WDT tools.

First impressions: this WDT Tool does not come with instructions, despite having a small booklet in the packaging. With that said, it's super easy to tinker with and figure out yourself. It's also made of metal and quality plastics. It feels solid. It also comes with replacement needles.Like I mentioned earlier, using it is extremely simple. You just have to loosen up a few parts on the shaft to "release" the head, allow it to seat on the bottom of your basket, and then re-tighten the screws. This allows it to be easily adjusted to various basket depths. Once it's adjusted for your basket, you release it from its magnetic hold, drop it into your basket filled with espresso grounds, and then spin the top to your liking.What I really like about this product:It looks great next to my machine and other accessories. I also like the use of magnets for the dosing funnel and spinning shaft. Everything "locks" into place just where you want it.Things I didn't like as much:The needle action creates concentric circles. This isn't the best way to distribute your grounds. A higher-end tool like this would have differing needle depths and an oscillating action to more thoroughly distribute the grounds inside the basket. By creating concentric circles of equal depth, this tool creates channels that will force the flow of water through the basket in a way that will not spread evenly through the espresso puck. With that said, this tool will get you 2/3rds of the way of a similar tool that costs quadruple the price.Overall, I recommend this WDT tool for beginners. It's well built, looks nice on a counter, and mostly gets the job done.

This WDT tool does a good job of distributing coffee grounds in your portafilter for more consistent puck formation and evenly saturated puck for better extraction of espresso. I find the stand for the tool to be functional for storing the tool. The quality of the tool is high, not sure what the other reviewer was expecting but the head of the tool appears cnc milled and anodized aluminum which are high quality materials. The tool even came with extra 0.25 and 0.40 diameter needles for replacement in the future if necessary. Overall, I was impressed by the quality and would buy the tool again.

This is functionally no different than the iKape Mantis as far as I can tell. Great tool though.
