Outstanding boots if you get the right size
It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable.I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide).I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots.Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination.I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods.Update: 2/20/23I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails.Update: 2/28/23I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now.

Pretty narrow, size up for wide feet and gel inserts
I normally wear a 7.5 or 8 and the 8 was just too narrow for me. The shoe is pretty comfortable and the back of my heels don’t rub, but I noticed a bit of pain in the bottom of my heel so I wanted to put a gel insert in it. With a pair of smart wool socks and a very thin gel insert, the 8 was way too small. Even without the gel insert and just the smart wool socks, it was still too narrow for my comfort, especially when it came to my toes. For reference, my toe width is about 3.8cm, so if your feet are that wide or wider, definitely size up and or get the wide version.I reordered an 8.5 wide since these didn’t fit, and I’ll probably update this review those come in.UPDATE 04-03-2023:The 8.5 wide came in and they fit perfect with the smart wool socks and a gel insert! (It’s a cheap AirPlus super gel insole if anyone was wondering). I personally like them with the insert since the sole is somewhat stiff. The one thing I am concerned about is how water proof this pair will be. It looks like they didn’t widen the tongue of the shoe along with the sole, so I’m not sure how well it will do at keeping water out. I have a camping trip in the next few days and I will update afterwards on how they held up.

Size up half a size and go wide!!
I'm usually a size 8 in running shoes, accounting room for about a thumbs width for my toes to move and expand. I went with many reviews saying to size up and get a wide size. They were right on so. I went for a 8.5 Wide and I had enough room for thick socks (I wore these boots for snowplay and snowboarding) and nothing was hugging too tight on my foot. My Columbia hiking shoes always ran narrow so going wide was a good call. These boots were great, ankle support helped a ton stomping through a good foot of fresh powder and kept my feet dry and warm in 15°F weather. I Plan to beat these up for my river hikes later once the snow melts but overall a good pair of boots for a decent price.

Waterproof.great on ice
These were great on a icy deck. Plenty of traction in the snow. Wore them an hour hiking muddy wet rocky, muddy conditions and feet stayed perfectly dry. I would give him a five if they were a bit wider on the soles. They're too wide on the inside but a bit too narrow on the very bottom. I want the stability when I'm out hiking with wider soles. I don't need to have dainty looking narrow feet when I'm out of the trails I want performance. And I'm not interested in hiking with somebody who wants dainty feet over performance either. Those are the females that give females a bad reputation. So we tend not to get the better quality stuff. We don't have real pockets in our pants for instance because females would rather look skinny. Something was wrong with the right boot,- too big my foot was wobbling in it. Put in some thick inserts and not having that issue. These are great on trail. Not so great on asphalt because it is not highly cushioned. Boots have a nice mixture of stiff support with some give to it. The heel and the ankle are a bit too wide for me, but when I tie them very tight it works, a bit too wobbly in the upper angle for me because my trails are rough. I needed a good grip on ice, waterproof, and warm. These were great in those areas. I did wear thick wool socks. I would give them a five for waterproof and grip.

These boots are great I bought them for a one month trip to Peru ! I did a lot of trekking and they were so comfortable and light! I even avoided blisters which to me was a win ! Definitely recommend !!

Money well spent!
I needed shoes suitable for walking the dog so I ordered 4 different pairs. Low-and-behold the ones I liked were the most expensive but wow these are worth every penny. They are super comfortable (no need to break them in either) and have kept my feet warm (with 1 pair of socks) & dry (in rain & snow).I would prefer a bit more grip in them (in the snow/ice so maybe I’m asking too much) & the laces didn’t last very long but these are tiny details for a shoe I enjoy so much.

Average
Fit is as expected. Not overly comfortable and definitely NOT waterproof (see my wet socks after a walk in the wet grass - not even in the rain). They are ok for this time of year but would be no good in the winter. I would descibe them as entry level walking boots

Not waterproof
Bought these for my wife to walk the dog. They’re are comfortable straight out the box but a big minus which defeats the purpose of having these kind of boots is that they’re not waterproof, even just walking in wet grass.

Great for wide feet and very comfortable for hikes!
I was researching for a wide foot boot and came across this boot. Wide feet shoes are difficult to find for women so the products out there are few and expensive! These boots were a really fair price for the quality, arrived quickly and feel absolutely amazing! I ordered a size up to allow room for expansion and I am glad I did this. Highly recommend these for avid wide feet hikers!
