FenixHM61R v2.0 Rechargeable Headlamp, 1600 Lumen L-Shape 90 Degree Right Angle Flashlight with Dual White and Red LEDs and LumenTac Organizer

Red light mode is useful for preserving night vision. Dimmest white light mode is perfect for reading documents at arms reach without completely ruining low light vision. The brightest white is as bright as near anyone will need from what is more of a flood light compared to most flashlights. Replacement 18650 batteries are easy enough to find(button top circuit protected) if looking for cheaper alternatives to what Fenix sells directly. This light is great for proximity illumination as the spot is soft and the flood is wide. Button control has been executed very well. Direct access to white light and red light modes when the light is off. Memory for white light brightness. I've not had the light turn on accidentally when in a bag or pocket.

We order 6 of the flashlights and we were shorted one Battery organizer. Since we intended on giving these out I was upset to be short one.Over all the packaging was good, individually packaged into a large box.

Not too heavy, performs great and is durable.

I have used Fenix for 15+yrs for headlamps and cycling lights. This one replaces an ancient AA powered Fenix which finally gave up the ghost. I like this a lot, very good options, easy to use, minimal but functional design. My only gripe is the Red mode is too diffuse and dim, to even read a book at night! even with 2 levels of Red, the low Red is essentially un-useable and Hi Red is still very dim. Too diffuse to be much use around camp or even read a book @ night, quite surprising. Aside from this, it is an excellent light.

I purchased this in September, used it for maybe 4-5 weeks and everything was fine. Nothing extreme, maybe 2 hours at a time maximum and then I recharge it.One day at work in the pitch dark the light setting starts dropping light levels. So I click the button, it goes back to its previous brightness and then not a minute later it happens again. So I let the lamp cool down thinking it may have overheated (even though it was cold and snowing outside).I turn on the lamp, same thing again. So I contacted the seller and basically was told that it could be overheating which is fair but I had already determined this not to be the case. I ask for an exchange or refund as it is crucial that I have a properly functioning headlamp for my outside job. They flat out refused. Said I could send the lamp in and they would take a look at it but I can’t be without a lamp and no offer to even temporarily exchange it so I’m basically stuck with it.Terrible customer service even though the help is needed and important.

WOW!!!!! This thing is bright on its highest setting. Easy to get all set up. The push button interface is easy to use and provides weeks of battery power.

The Fenix HM61r is quality dual use headlamp. The included headband is useful and provides a stable mounting for the light. It is more comfortable over a bandana or a hat than it is on bare skin. The onboard charger works well and is more compact than having a USB-C in the body of the light. The light only takes longer style button top 18650 and does not work at all with flat top 18650. Only by using the Fenix battery does the onboard charging work. The button has a pretty good feel to it but is it pretty easy to activate it inadvertently. The overall UI is simple and makes sense for this light. It is easy to access the red mode when vision needs to be preserved or in order to signal in something like an emergency or location. 3 second hold for lock out is handy and is engraved on the light itself. This is good for preventing accidental turn on and ending up with a dead light in your pocket or bag. The red spacing is decent and will run for a very long time. The white light is low CRI and on the greener side. It does have a pretty nice pattern with a fairly throwy white light. Would prefer a better emitter than an SST40 which is pretty basic but bright for a light in this price range. The frosted lens help keep a good beam pattern despite the red leds in the reflector. The light does get hot very quickly in the highest mode, but that is to be expected. For a right angle headlamp with red and white lights, the Fenix is a pretty good choice.

I had the smaller version of this and want that one again instead of this (it was lost).I don't like the proprietary magnet charging probably most out of all of my complaints.
