Classic comic espionage caper from Disney studios starring Peter Ustinov and Derek Nimmo. Lord Southmere (Nimmo) hides a top-secret microfilm containing the formula for the mysterious 'Lotus X' in a dinosaur skeleton at the Natural History Museum in London after narrowly escaping from a gang of ruthless Chinese spies. When he realises that the spies are following him, he instructs his former nanny Hettie (Helen Hayes) to retrieve the microfilm. Southmere is then promptly recaptured by the head spy, Hnup Wan (Peter Ustinov), while the resourceful Hettie assembles a group of fellow nannies to help her search for the microfilm. But the nannies are up against the cunning of the evil spy gang, who will stop at nothing to get to the prized Lotus X before Hettie and her helpers. An old school Disney joy!
An old school Disney joy. Yes, it’s “problematic” with English actors in Chinese makeup - but there’s not a bad bone in this movies body. Cliches abound (especially for the English) in a quick-witted spy caper. The cast is great. The direction sprightly. And Ron Goodwin’s score is a lot of fun. It’s impossible to hate, filled with laugh aloud moments. Brilliant fun.

Hello. I was taken somewhat aback by the fact that the DVD was not advertised as Region 2, but now I know that all of Bonnie Scotland's stuff is and I shall be aware in the future. This technical difficulty (not really, as the DVD played perfectly on my desktop PC) did not come to mind at all. The movie was a great deal of fun with Peter Ustinov's turn as a Chinese agent and Helen Hayes playing the oh-so-prim and proper nanny-in-charge. The children were fun to watch and the whole exercise was a nod to the time when the Empire ruled 3/4's of the world. "Rather" enjoyable, what???

Una película que hace mucho que no se ha vuelto a editar en España. Se ve bien y no cuenta con extras. Esta en español de España en su doblaje original. Buena pelicula para ver una tarde de domingo.
