Hard to get right size for a small 7 year old

My son can't wait to wear this! He is particular about his costumes being accurate and he didn't complain, so I'm happy! Just a heads up, there is a BIG difference between the Medium and the Large. According to the size chart, he should fit perfectly into Med, but the Med just barely fits. The Velcro on his back pops open when he bends over. I will have to pin it closed. We bought a large thinking it would fit better, since the medium is snug. The large is HUGE on him. It hangs way past his hands and feet. We'll keep that one for a future Halloween, since he likes the costume so much. My son is 52" tall and 64lbs. He is average build, for a nine year old.

Bought this for my 7 year old son who is a huge Star Wars fan. He saw this while I was online one day and didn't stop talking about it until it arrived a few days later at our post office. Once he tried it on, it was a few hours later before I could get it off of him. The size is great. He is a size 7 and it's a little loose on him but overall fits. (Has some growing room!). I was worried about what size to order, but the medium worked great. After Halloween this costume will be added to his brothers and his dress up bin of super heroes and action figure costumes where I am sure it will get years of use.

My son was dying for this costume. It arrived and is adequate for the price. However, the sizing is waaaay off. I read the reviews and the sizing guide and tried to pick the correct size. A medium for an average sized 6.5 year old is outrageously huge. I won't even be able to hem it to make it fit. This medium would fit a small adult. And, here's the kicker, apparently this item is not available for return. So, I guess I'll hang onto this costume for the next several years and hope my son still likes Star Wars whenever he grows enough for it to fit him. For the time being, I will stay away from this seller and find another costume.

We did not buy the least expensive costume but the next price point up. My 8-yr-old loved this costume, it fit him great...for Halloween only. He promptly grew out of it! But that's not the reason I give it 3 stars, I give it 3 stars because of the mask. It is too small for his size, it barely covered the head and the plastic eye part was such cheap plastic that my son could barely see through it so, he didn't use the mask at all. As usually expected from these types of costumes, the fabric is very thin so he wore a black turtleneck and black pants underneath for warmth. He was happy with the costume, I was happy that he was happy but the quality was too lacking. (I would hate to see what the least expensive costume had to offer!)

Heads up parents!!! TWO MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS COSTUME.1) THE SIZING IS OFF ON THIS AMAZON LISTING. A "Large" is listed as fitting an 8-10 year old. After we ordered it, our rather tall 8 year-old was *swimming* in the costume, which is clearly labeled as fitting a 12-14 year old. Total FAIL.2) THE MASK HAS NO BACK TO IT. It is not a helmet, but has a rubber band to hold the back on, so don't think that it covers the whole head.Other than that, it's a typical "onesie" and my son will be happy to wear it with some black thermal underwear.Hope this description helps!

Pleasantly surprised to see that the mask was a sturdy plastic and NOT the flimsy plastic that easily cracks. My son could not see with the mask on at night because the eye piece part is tinted so his Dad pried it out and still the mask did not crack. The costume fabric is thin and has two velcro fasteners on the back. My kid is skinny and the velcro kept separating but it must be comfortable because the kid goes to bed while wearing his costume.

I bought this for my 6yr old grandson. I was not happy with it for what I paid for it. It was a very expensive for what you got. The material is very flimsy. He complained that the mask does not fit the way it should. We also bought the size based on what he wears but it didn't fit like it should have. We had to figure out a way to keep it on. I wanted to send it back but he was very upset because he really wanted this costume. He was not happy about the way it fit but he had it in his mind this is what he wanted to be for Halloween. He had an party to go to this past Sunday and just in the very short hours he wore it the feet had holes in it by the end of the party. I think we should go back to the old days of making our own costumes!
