Brennenstuhl Orange 20m IP44 Cable Reel with Thermal Protection

The quality of this cable reel is second-to-none; since buying it we have switched over all our EHU/shore power connection equipment to Brennenstuhl for the obvious extra safety and security their products supply.I wanted a 2.5mm camping cable on a reel as the original cable we had was loose and did not appear to be much more than 1.5mm in diameter. Because of the extra cost, I felt as though I was taking a bit of a chance in purchasing this Brennenstuhl reel. However, on receiving it the quality of materials and construction was immediately obvious. There are also some additional features that I think make it a stand-out purchase and one you will be pleased you made as part of your camping fundamentals:The reel is fitted with a handy cable guide - the red part attached to the top handle in the photograph. This helps the thick cable go where you want it to on the reel as you are rewinding it after use. There is also a small red clip on the supply plug, to clip it to the edge of the reel and stop it unwinding in transit.The cable comes supplied with Brennenstuhl’s brilliant 2-way, right-angled plug. This plug lets the cable hang straight down under its own weight when plugged into the socket on the motorhome, relieving stress on the cable and preventing it sticking out as far as a standard straight plug (see photos for comparison).The right-angled plug also conceals a handy continental 240V socket in the back of the plug head, creating a handy socket for you to use when living outside the van. To maximise use of this, we purchased a continental extension socket (continental to UK 3-pin plus USBs) from Amazon, as shown in the photos.The cable reel itself has a lovely leather strap and metal buckle to help retain the right-angled plug when stored, and the plug is attached to the reel with around 1.5m of cable so that the reel itself can be hidden under the van while in use, which helps prevent tripping.The cable itself is where you notice the quality most; it has a thick rubber coating in bright, high-visibility orange and has a lovely ‘feel’ in use. Because it is so thick it doesn’t tangle or get knotted in use and winds back onto the reel easily when you need to store it again.Two other Brennenstuhl accessories we purchased to go with the reel: They make a black plastic footplate which clips onto the metal frame; you put one foot on this to stabilise the frame when winding the cable in. It makes the reel noticeable more stable when rewinding at a campsite and flips up neatly for storage.The other Brennenstuhl accessory we have recently invested in is their heavy-duty zip bag to protect the reel. As seen in the first photograph, I had our reel secured with a bungee strap to the front of our motorhome garage; however, this wasn’t protecting the reel from anything else hitting it whilst moving. The zipped carry bag is made specifically for this reel and is really sturdy. I expect all of these items will last well into the future, despite repeated and regular use.

Il prodotto è come da foto e descrizione. Ottima fattura e curato nei dettagli. Pensavo fosse più ingombrante invece ha dimensioni contenute. Ottimo per stivare nel camper.

Dieser Kabeltrommel von Brennenstuhl ist stabil und aus hochwertiges Material hergestellt. Das Kabel ist sehr gut isoliert und in Orange gut sichtbar (theoretisch für Italien Pflicht). An der freie Ende gibt es ein Stecker, am Trommelende gibt es ein abgewinkelter Kupplung. Stecker und Kupplung sind beide in ordentlicher Ausführung. Der Kupplung hat ca. 1m Kabellänge zum Trommel. Dieser wird außen am Trommel aufgewickelt. Der Winkelstecker wird mit einem Riemen festgemacht. Der Winkelstecker passt nicht überall: Bei unseren Caravan ist der Anschlussstelle unter den Boden verschraubt. Der abgewinkelte Kabelabgang steht somit nach oben und verhindert dass der Kupplung verbunden werden kann. Wir haben einen geraden Kupplung gekauft (ca. 5€) und statt den abgewinkelten montiert. Die Leitungsenden am Kabel sind vorschriftsmäßig mit Hülsen versehen so dass dies auch sehr einfach gemacht werden kann. Der Riemen hat einige Löcher so dass auch der geraden Kupplung ordentlich befestigt werden kann. Der abgewinkelte Kupplung kostet neu ca. 10€ - es ist also durchaus wertvoll. Im Inneren der Trommel gibt es einen thermischen Schutz damit es nicht zum brennen anfängt wenn zu viel Leistung über den nicht vollständig ausgerollte Kabel gezogen wird.Als einzige negativpunkt ist die Kabelführung über den Griff. Der Kabel wird über eine rote Rolle gezogen. Dabei macht dies eine gleichmäßige Aufwicklung eher schwerer als einfacher. Außerdem lässt sich der Stecker nirgendwo ordentlich ablegen. Es gibt zwar eine Clip dafür womit der Stecker am Trommelrand aufgesteckt werden sollte - das taugt aber gar nicht. Um den Stecker einfach oben auf das aufgewickelte Kabel zu legen muss der Stecker zuerst abgeklemmt werden um dann aus der Führung am Griff herausgenommen zu werden. Das reicht aber für mich nicht für einen Punkt Abzug - dafür ist die Qualität des Materials für den Preis zu gut. Die Kabellänge von 20m darf nicht kritisiert werden - es wird schließlich so beworben.Insgesamt ein preiswerte Produkt aus gutem Material mit eine Länge der für die meisten Campingplätze reicht. Wer sicher gehen will muss ein anderen nehmen oder ein einfache Verlängerung für den Notfall in den Geräteschrank tun.

Manchmal muss es halt doch die Qualität eines Markenherstellers sein wie bei dieser Kabeltrommel von Brennenstuhl.Nach der Benutzung eines No-Name-Produktes für einige Jahre war die Erfahrung der Benutzung dieser Kabeltrommel bei unseren Wohnmobilreisen ein richtiges Aha-Erlebnis.Das besonders Gute an dieser Kabeltrommel ist, dass sie sofort mit einem CEE-Stecker ausgestattet ist, man sich also den Adapterstecker spart. Das sollte man beim Preis dieser Kabeltrommel übrigens auch bedenken.Weiterhin gut ist, dass das Kabel in orange ist, also gut zu sehen ist, wenn es auf dem Boden liegt. (Ich habe mal gelesen, dass z.b. in Italien diese Kabelfarbe sogar Vorschrift ist).Das Kabel selbst ist elastisch genug, um sich gut aufwickeln zu lassen. Für den Anschluss an der Wohnmobil"steckdose" ist die Kabeltrommel mit einer CEE-Winkelkupplung inkl. Schutzkontakt-Steckdose mit selbstschließenden Deckel ausgestattet. Auch das spart noch einmal ein Adapterkabel und ist hinsichtlich des Feuchtigkeitsschutzes vorbildlich.Fazit: ein sehr gutes und sehr gelungenes Produkt mit uneingeschränkter Kaufempfehlung
