I bought this light to replace an old dining room fixture that had seen better days. That fixture, I believe, was original to the house, so it had been there since the 1950s. I did have some concerns at first about hanging a modern LED fixture there, but these are not that expensive so I took the plunge. I'm really happy that I did.The light can be mounted in two ways - either to a conventional electric box in the ceiling, or simply attach it to the ceiling with drywall anchors or screws. I was able to get mine to work with my70+ year old ceiling box. Installation was straightforward and easy. The light fits flush to the ceiling with no gaps and it's really low-profile.As far as performace goes, it puts out plenty of light. The old light had been on a dimmer, and I bought a new dimmer switch because there were a couple of reviews where some people had trouble with the older dimmers. However, the light worked just fine with my existing dimmer - which was probably also 70+ years old. (I changed it anyway because it was old, and I had a new one ready to go.) I rarely need to use the light full-blast - it's typically dimmed down to around half.The night light feature might be my favorite thing with this light. It doesn't shine downward like the main light, it shines upward to the ceiling. This delivers a more diffuse, indirect light at night, and its color is not harsh at all. Even at full brightness it's suitable as a night light. In fact, if I come out to the kitchen in the middle of the night, I don't turn any lights on, I just increase the brightness of the night light, do my thing, and turn the dimmer back down when I leave. If I didn't have a ceiling fan in my kitchen already, I would put one of these in that spot.TLDR:I really dig this light. It's a great value for the money and it has such a low-key design aesthetic that it can literally go anywhere. The night light is awesome. This one of the very few products I've bought on Amazon that I can't find any negative things to say about.Would definitely recommend and/or buy again.

I have installed many light fixtures in my life. Trust me when I say: These are one of the best I've seen and definitely THE best for room lighting, leaving everyone else far behind, and for that price it's even crazier!!!The LED light is STRONG, I think I speak for many of you who fond the yellow/2700K, but this 3000K with 2400lumens is like you've installed the sun in your room! But it gets even better... That "nigh mode" light? WAOOOW - This actually makes my soul feel so good when I switch to that mode in the late evening time - I kid you not! Your eyes literally get a lot more comfortable in this yellow-orange mood light. And with a dimmer switch (which I HIGHLY recommend for this because the main light is just strong! 2400LM = 200W incandescent!) - you'll be ecstatic like I am.I can't say enough good things about it! It is super easy to install, lightweight, flushes with the ceiling so nicely and so thin it gives this clean looks to the ceiling. It has a clip inside when you'll be able to just hang the led, after you've screwed the upper plate in, which makes it so convenient to hook up the wires without worrying about the led falling off your hands etc.Let's just put it this way: I bought one for my daughter's room... and another 2 a week after for the other rooms. Okay? Good!

Bought this to replace an incandescent only bulb fixture. Wanted something that didn’t hang down to increase overhead clearance as wellThis light fit the bill perfectly. Installing took all of 15 minutes, and had all the included hardware. Screws, wire nuts and drywall anchors, although I only used the wire nuts and reused hardware.It’s lightweight and easy to manipulate to install.Color temperature control is governed by a switch on the inside, my suggestion is prior to clipping to the anchor plate, find the setting you want.To activate the night light mode, turn the light off and back on, likewise to activate the main light again.It’s a good light and worth the $25 ish dollars I paid on sale with good functionality.The circuit in my bathroom does not have a dimmer, so I could not test this featureIt fit directly into place, and worked perfectly
