Saucony Men's, Triumph 20 Running Shoe

As close to perfect as any road shoe I have owned
As someone who considers himself a little bit of a shoe nerd, I can say that the Triumph 20 is as well-designed as any pair of shoes that have ever been on my feet. I wanted these to be my higher mileage shoes for slower, longer days, but after a few runs I can say that this shoe makes me keep running faster. I have never had to consciously slow myself down to keep a certain intensity as I have with these shoes. I think it has something to do with the heel to toe drop combined with the rocker shape and toe roll off that really propels me forward. The fit of the upper is perfectly snug. I am one of those runners who cannot stand having my heel slip up and down while I run. I won’t be able to stop thinking about it. BUT I also hate it when shoes are tight and restrictive around my toes. I wear a size 10, but truth be told I could probably be a size 10.5. My history wearing climbing shoes and boots makes me prefer a shoe that doesn’t have too much extra length. In these size 10’s, my toes are pretty close to the end of the shoe, but the toe area of the shoe is perfectly shaped and sized so the upper does not restrict my toes at all. PERFECT. Not too baggy so my feet stay where they are, but just the right amount of extra room so my toes are not touching the upper. The heel area and mid foot of the upper are snug and comfortable, while the toe area feels barely there. FINALLY a shoe company got it right. Let’s talk about the heel on this shoe. It’s bouncy. I’ve had other shoes with heels that are bouncy in a weird and hard-to-get-used-to way, and some shoes with a soft and squishy heel that does the opposite of the Triumph and makes me constantly have to speed up. This heel gets it just right. It gives you definite noticeable energy return after it squishes, but it doesn’t feel unstable. The heel isn’t one of the modern high stack shoes that gets super wide on the sole, which I like. The platform of these shoes seems like a slimmer profile compared to some of the newer generation of big midsole shoes, and I think this contributes to it feeling like a faster shoe. I love it. A few times in one of my night runs I accidentally stepped on some rocks and a stump, and for being a somewhat tall midsole, the shoe rode over the obstacles very gracefully. Some other taller shoes will definitely give me that immediate ankle roll in these situations (ahem, Hoka, ahem, sorry needed to clear my throat there). The look of the shoe is really cool. I have the Night Light color scheme and the pictures don’t do it justice. In the light the red is a fluorescent red and the Saucony symbol is reflective. It looks way cooler in person than in the pictures. These are my new favorite shoes. I was skeptical at first because of how good of a deal the 20’s were going for and also the 10mm heel-to-toe drop. I’d be lying if I said I don’t notice the drop, but the weird thing is I didn’t think I like it as much as I do. With the geometry of the shoe, the drop feels propulsive. I also feel like the cushion and feel of the forefoot is plenty cushioned as well. Get this shoe. I can’t imagine many people disliking it.

Great daily trainer
These are some amazing running shoes for their price. I am comfortable doing almost any kind of run (up to a half marathon) with them. Perfect option for long runs at a 8 to 11 mins/mile pace. The cushioning is great and the soles still look like new after 300 miles. Fit true to size. I am just waiting for a discount to buy a new pair.

Light weight and very comfortable!!!
I gave these shoes to my boyfriend for Christmas, and he loves them!!The shoe features a foam cushion and thick rubber outsole that's both lightweight and comfortable, which helps him with his long walks. The thick, padded heel feels soft and gives excellent support. He could not be more happier.

Medium Cushioning Triumph 20
I was looking for a Max Cushion athletic shoe for everyday wear and comfort. I really wanted the type of comfort that I received from the Asics Gel Nimbus 25, which is a sweet spot for maximum comfort and cushioning. The Saucony Triumph 20 was a close match but not the same as the Gel Nimbus 25, not that it disappointed me in any way it just doesn't give the maximum comfort I was looking for.The Triumph 20 is a medium comfort shoe that actually fits true to size and seems to be a high quality made product. I must admit after wearing it on a regular basis and installing a thick comfort insert by Dr. Scholls it's actually quite comfortable. Yes, I would recommend this shoe especially if your on your feet all day long like I am.

My favorite shoe
I have been buying running shoes for more years than most of you have been alive. I remember when I got my first New Balance: I could not believe how comfortable a running shoe could be! A few years ago, I started buying Saucony to add to my NBs, mostly because of their excellent reviews in Runners World and their slightly lower price. This pair of Tri 20s, are so well made and cushioned that I now have 2 pair, one of which I use for my walking shoes. I can't recommend them highly enough. They are wonderful shoes.

Nice bright colors
These shoes were bought for my son he wears a size 10.5 but after reading the reviews he sized up to an 11. So glad he did, the elevens fit him perfectly. Shoes have plenty of cushion for comfort, they’re lightweight. He loves the vibrant colors of the shoes.

Excellent running shoe
I was recommended this show from an AVID runner at REI who said it’s the best shoe he has owned/run with and he said he has worn them all (Hoka, Saucony, On, Nike, etc). They’re extremely light which we discussed and how they handle a significant amount of miles with little breakdown. I’ve put on 50+ so far and they’re great. I have plantar fasciitis and really need cushion and support around my left heel. This shoe absolutely does that. GREAT shoe.

Updated: Decent running shoe, cushioning not that great, poor durability
Update: After 2-1/2 months and about 360 miles of running on the Triumph 20s, the soles of these are more worn than after 9 months of runnings on my Brooks Glycerin 19s (see photo of Triumph sole).I've ran in Brooks Glycerin 19s for 2+ years. They are the most comfortable running shoes I've ever had. They have a fairly large toebox and the best cushioning of any shoe I've owned. I'm 54 years old and Glycerins allow my legs and feet to feel 10-years younger after a run versus other shoes. I read that these Triumph 20s had similar cushioning, but they don't. They feel average at best. They are similar in sizing and build quality compared to the Glycerins, with the toebox just a little smaller, but the impact upon heel strike is noticably harsher. If Glycerin 19 cushioning is a 10, I'd rate the cushioning on the Triumph 20s at a 6. They're not bad for in colder weather, like around freezing or below, because all outer soles get stiffer at low temperatures, but if you need really soft cushioning these I can't recommend them. The Triumphs were $80 vs $120 for the Glycerins when I bought them (MSRP for both is $160), but to me the harder sole doesn't justify the savings.

Calzado muy cómodo , suave , acojinado.
The media could not be loaded.
