Upgraded my old Dyson (V6-style model with no removable filter) to add the external HEPA filter with this kit, while I had it all apart for a proper cleaning and replacement battery. Be warned the original plastic parts do take a bit of persuading with the separation tool, so you will have to use a bit more force and levering than the video shows, but care / patience and persistence pays off. All of the replacement parts are a good match in terms of fit, colour, and finish. Not only is the Dyson reconditioned like new with the cleaning and replacement filters, but there’s a really practical improvement having the filter that easily clips off from the outside for cleaning or replacement. Clever stuff.

Pre and post filters appear good quality. Disassembled our unit before receiving this pack so cannot comment on the tools but they equally appear good quality. The only issue is that the red displacer which fits over the PCB does not fit my unit which is a DC59 - the PCB is a few mm too big and the cables apertures do not align to the cables. However, given the original post filters didn't have this protector I have simply left it off. All slotted back together well and appears to work well and certainly much easier to maintain but couldn't give it full stars due to the red bracket not fitting. Very happy with it.

Love this upgrade as the old pre motor filter was starting to be a bit crap and stank of perfume so this coming with a new pre filter and a add on post motor filter is brilliant. No more smell out of the vaccum and it reduces the noise slightly. The installation was simple you only need a screwdriver and something to pry the old back of the vaccum off. Would completely recommend if you want to rejuvenate your old V6 and add an upgrade and keep your old vaccum still running in tip top shape.

My old handheld Dyson was pulsing so it was either the battery or the fact it was full of fluff. So I followed a YouTube video and took the entire thing apart to clean it. And while it was easy and satisfying to do, I broke 3 things. 2 being gaskets in the cyclone part (not available on Amazon but bought elsewhere) and the last bit being the exhaust filter for the motor. This turned into gunk from age. This part simply fits on where you took the old bits off and give you a quieter and more dust free exhaust filter. It now sounds like the newer model a family member has and should keep the motor working better for longer. Well worth it to keep the old model going, Vs a replacement which is a few hundred pounds.

Four stars because there were no instructions in the box. But there were tools and other items. Seems to work find with no loss of suction (the black filters in the original part had disintegrated - bad form on the part of Dyson not to offer replacements for these filtres, so you have to pay way more than the few pence it must cost for replacements. Anyway, a good solution to salvaging a stick vacuum cleaner that would have had to have been thrown away. I'll update this review if anything goes wrong with the new parts. It would be useful to know where to buy replacements for the HEPA filters, but the adverts given very little information. We'll see!

Fits perfectly and you get a set of Dyson tools brilliant

While replacing a battery on my V6 -SV04 last week I followed a YouTube video and dismantled most of the vacuum for the experience, so I had a good idea on how to install this filter cover. When I discovered the old filter over the exhaust the original sponge donut (filter) was reduced to mush and pieces fell out. A strange looking snap-on paper filter came with the new battery, but it didn’t go to my old Dyson I had gotten at Costco 10 years ago. I googled for an upgrade that might allow the filter to attach to my V6 vacuum and saw this one on Amazon. Great price and they have replacements for about every part, motors and all. You priced a new Dyson lately? This took me about 15 minutes to upgrade. What an impressive (metal) pry tool they included. NICE! I’ll be using that on future electric repairs. I removed the battery first and went slow so not to break any plastic. The pry tool made it easier for sure. Wish I had known this upgrade for an old V6 stick vacuum was available before now. I’ve got more suction too. Good YouTube videos to assist with this.

Great upgrade for the older model. Hepa filter and red cap fitted easily with clear instruction. Would recommend highly if you want to upgrade your old Dyson SV03

Once I got the old filter off the vac which was a bit tricky, it fitted like a dream and snapped into place so easy. My vac is now near new again and working perfectly
