NB623s - Very comfortable All-around, Walking Shoe - My 2nd Pair!
This is my second pair of NB 623s that I've purchased. My first pair was purchased over 1 year ago and were extremely comfortable as an everyday walking shoe. I put over 650 miles on my first pair, just from my 2.5-mile morning walks. As you can see from the picture, after hundreds of walking miles, the rear sole began to wear out. The NB623s are not only comfortable, they clean-up well, too. My new pair of NB623s fit perfectly and I'm looking forward to another year of walking comfort. I take leaving reviews seriously, and should I experience any issues with the new pair of NB623s, I will update my review.Like most Amazon shoppers, I count on honest, unbiased reviews. I hope you have found this review helpful in making your purchase decision.

Total Waste of Money
I've been buying these New Balance shoes for my husband for at least 10 years from a local store without issues EVER. They no longer sell the size 16 I need so I came to Amazon to get them. NEVER AGAIN what is wrong with these? Are they factory rejects?Sole is splitting from the leather shoe after 5 weeks? No good at all, these were a total waste of money, they won't even last another month with this craftsmanship. I believe I deserve a refund or a new pair sent to me. This is completely unacceptable with a New Balance shoe. Completely unsatisfied buyer.

New Balance Men's 623v3 Training Shoe - 114E? seriously...
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B019EELO4S/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0I don't know what's happening at New Balance. The company has lost its way and are "ignoring" their loyal customers. These typically have wide feet and NB was their home. In the last few years the quality has deteriorated, shoddy designs with the tongue not being covered when you wear it, too short laces, and soulless padding of the soles. In some models what used to comfortable 2E's are no more. They are probably narrow. The 4E's are more like the "D" in other brands. So what's to be done. Thanks to Amazon's blazingly fast return models, all I have to do is to drop it off at a UPS store and get a receipt. Within hours my account gets credited and I have already ordered the next great "hope." I had returned three different models the last time, and two other brands (for the first time in a long time I am looking for alternate brands.)Maybe the next pair coming on Wednesday might be the one that fits. I am hopeful but not sure. I hope New Balance solves whatever problems they have or make a public announcement they are abandoning they former customer base and are now hankering after the mainstream. If they are, they will be clobbered by Nike and others.

Worst set of shoes I've ever owned. I wish I could return them. Absolutely NOT up to NB standards.
Don't make the same mistake I did. I wish I could return these and get my money back. But I waited too long and now I'm stuck. But I hope this review will help others avoid the same mistake I made. Unless you're into excruciating foot pain, DON'T BUY THESE PIECES OF JUNK!I've been wearing New Balance shoes since I was a young man selling them in a sporting goods store nearly 30 years ago. Their comfort and materials of construction made them the best shoes anyone could buy. When I graduated College and got a job as an Engineer nearly 26 years ago I wasn't allowed to wear sneakers in work. Regular "work" shoes didn't have the support or cushioning that my NB cross trainers did. But then I found these cross trainers in BLACK and no one noticed I was wearing them! So I've been a NB customer for a LONG time. Unfortunately finding them in 11D became a chore. Every store I visited has the wide (EE) or extra wide widths (EEE), not the mediums (D). And when I found these on Amazon I was overjoyed. That was REAL short lived. These particular Mx623V3 NB shoes were the WORST ones I've ever owned. They were fine for about a week then began to show signs of premature wear on the leather uppers. Then they started hurting my feet. And I'm not talking making them sore. I'm talking about feeling like someone had pounded nails into my heels and arches. The sole just lost all of it's elasticity. I even tried adding Dr Scholls insoles but that didn't help. They were just too far gone. I ended up ordering online from Famous Footwear (who'll be getting my business from now on) .Personally I think these are factory seconds. I've compared them to the new set of NB 608 and the differences between the two were pretty obvious. But oddly enough, the prices were nearly identical. Hmmmmm go figure.

vey comfortable, leather uppers
I have been wearing 623's since Version 0. Here is a short rundown.V0 - 2 pairs, vey comfortable, leather uppers, very nice detailing, all around great shoe.V2 - 2 pairs, good comfort, leather uppers, detailing removed, slightly smaller, ok shoe.V3 - 1 pair, poor comfort, stiff synthetic upper, awful, awful shoe.V4 - stick a fork in it, I'm done. Not going there. The uppers on the V3 is a very stiff synthetic material. The toe box flexes downward, and cuts into the top of my foot when I walk. I was hoping it would eventually break-in and soften, but it hasn't after six months. They will now go in the trash, where they should have gone months ago. Sorry New Balance, I'm heading back to Asics, from whence I came, many years ago.

Looks 1990s, feels good
New balance has different actual real life sizes between different models, had 3 totally 623v3 (US12), 624v5(US11.5), 601v1(US11.5 was 2 sizes small)Fit is great, all good, except toe-box area is too high, especially when lacing up tight.

Awesome Deal
I have bought these exact same shoes over and over and over again for almost a decade. I love them.supportive and comfortable.i walk a lot so I need great walking shoes, man these are perfect. Better then those glow in the dark clown shoes the kids are wearing these days. When ordering a saw something said buying options, so I clicked it, they had 1 slightly so called used pair the same, says had a tiny scuff going for 50% off, heck ya why not so I bought that pair. Awesome.ok I did notice the toe is pointy -er but whatever. I guess older guys like me want them as dresser shoes on occasion I get that,I prefer the round toe but 50% off no problem. What a steal! Thanks guy who tried them on once and returned them so I get a super deal.

They seem like factory seconds
I stand all day at work, moreso now that the covid thing has taken control of our lives and I do mostly a security role now at work. Anyway, I have had some issues with my feet and though I always considered a bad stock sort of reason for it I hoped that spending a little more on some shoes would make my life at least a little better. It did not really, most of the day I think about my feet. how thin these shoes seem to be and how they offer little in the way of defense against the concrete. They both have worn differently in the first week of wearing them (as shown) but before I even put them on, I noticed the toe cap area of the left shoe seems to be mis-formed and the labelling on the back just kind of looked like "hashmarks/B". Inside I can feel the support bars on the shoe that has the large toe crease line (the right one) and it has that fold that showed up on day two of wearing them. They have not seen rain and really are not even at the fully broken in point I would not say BUT they have definite deep toe grooves already and are a long, long way from what I was hoping for. I was not expecting a miracle though I was hoping for one maybe but they are no better for my feet that the pair of DH I got on clearance for $17 so...ya.
