Great winter boot
This is my first pair of Lugz and I have to say I am impressed. I bought them specifically as a cold weather motorcycle boot and as a general work boot around my mostly wooded 8 acre property. I have gone through all the Wal-Mart/Kohl's varieties of work boots and none of them could keep my feet warm in the cold like these. I ride in 20-30 degree weather to work at speeds around 80mph and these things keep my feet feeling awesome. After a few minutes I can feel the cold trying to seep in at highway speeds, but I have never even contemplated wearing a second pair of socks with these if that tells you anything. And when I have something to do around my property I put these and a pair of jeans on before I step out (summer or winter) without a second thought. Now that isn't to say these are right for everyone. The one major weakness I found is that water can and does seep in quickly if you get it over the laces (e.g. step in a deep-ish puddle and your feet will get damp, stand in it for more than a second and you may as well as have left your boots in the house). They also collect mud pretty quick, but that is a failing of work boots in general. If you like to keep your boots looking nice then you definitely don't want to work in these. They scuff and scratch pretty easily when you put them to work (might be something to do with the material being close to a microfiber feel on the outside). They also collect a visible layer of dust in about 1/10th of a second after stepping outside - at least the black version does anyway. But I didn't buy them to just look nice, so I am a happy customer.Edit: Oh, and these things are like ninja boots or something. They nearly silent. I never realized how much I appreciate that until I heard some workmen in my office building clomping around in the hallway. Nobody knows I am there unless they see me when I am wearing them.

Didn't disappoint me
I bought a pair of Lugz several years ago at a discount clothing store. I kind of thought that they would just be trendy, stylish boots that don't really serve for work. I WAS WRONG. Those boots ROCKED. Super comfortable and lasted a very long time. I am a contractor so my boots get a workout. I could not find the same boot again locally. But, then I am not a big shopper. I had bought several pairs since. The last pair were Timberland boots. Man they are awful. So, I decided to go on line and see if I could find another pair of Lugz. I did. They were not quite as inexpensive as the first pair. But, certainly not pricey either. I have worn these boots for a solid couple of months now. They are SUPER, way comfortable, and seem to be wearing great. I have always worn 9D boots. That is what these are. They fit great. I would recommend them for a real work boot.As a final review. I am about to order another pair. Checked to see when I ordered last pair. It has been exactly a year. Great service from a comfortable boot. Worked them hard for a year.

Love these boots...but...
Ive been buying these same boots for like 10 years now. Like them because they are light as a sneaker, and always lasted a long time and look great too. But recently, there quality seems to be not as good as years ago. I even tryed the ballistic drifter and them where terrible. Hard to find the regular lugz drifter mid....but very expensive for quality slacking. They just look more cheaply made. Can tell from having these for so long every year. But otherwise im satisfied, but theyve been same price forever now, but i think the quality now...should be a little cheaper.

Leather VS Synthetic
It's apparent that Lugz has went the way of the big-box stores: they have sacrificed quality in the name of lower costs. The black leather Lugz Drifter was a good, versatile boot that could take some wear and tear, and they were easy on the eyes. Then, Lugz decided that true leather was just too costly for them. So they went to synthetic material, such as "nubuck." The nubuck boots look nothing like the leather Drifter, and they don't last as long, either. The Monster II boot resembled the Drifter, but it was apparent after 2 days that there is a steep price to pay for lower cost. The Monster was torn in less than 48 hours, it couldn't be fixed because the material is so cheap, and of course since they'd been worn a couple times, they weren't covered under warranty. I'm sure I'm not the only ex-customer who has a problem with Lugz and their new 'lower costs at any price' initiative. The switch from leather to synthetic is probably a substantual cost-cutting tool for the company. The savings that are passed along to the customer? Miniscule. Now, the leather Drifter is all but extinct. So i'd like to thank you, Lugz, for manufacturing a quality boot for a little while. As a former customer, I will always say that Lugz started out making a quality product. As far as I'm concerned, the corporate decision-makers at Lugz decided that the customers would be satisfied with any cheap and crummy shoe that they market. How's that working out for you, Lugz? Fare thee well, Lugz. When another company takes your market share, I hope they make better decisions than you.

Good boot, not great
I used to have a pair of these a few years back and they were great boots lasted me a long time so I saw these and bought them thinking they were the same boot because they had the same name, I was wrong. The material or lack of materials I should say is very apparent. The older version had thicker leather, so it supported my ankles and feet better. They cut a few corners to keep their cost down. When I put on my old pair I still have I could tell the newer version was made cheaper, the laces are already frayed and the bottoms are wearing pretty fast and the leather across the top of the boot is half as thick as the older version. Ok boot, definitely not a work boot.

Nice boot. Order your true foot size.
I like the look of this boot. Normally I wear an 11 triple E, but some said it ran small. I should have ordered my proper size as the 11.5 is a little loose and my heel moves in it. They are pretty stiff, and need a few days of walking to break them in, but they are comfortable. I'd recommend using suede protector to keep the dirt off the light color.
