Dear Grumpy Boss: A The Harder They Fall Standalone

This book was amazing! I didn’t see the beginning coming at all, and what they did to him…that was awesome! I would have never thought of that! Then the rest of the book was so good, great story line, great details, great ups and downs, can’t wait to read on! Love that the curvy girl gets the guy, and loves her body too!

Whew. This was a long one.Weston, a self made, rich, workaholic. His escape as a child was to go to his friend’s house, Elliot and Elise. There was always something about Elise. But Weston was the typical alpha male as an adult. Nothing came before or between him and his company, that includes women.Elise has been in a relationship for years until one day she is told about a pic her bf posted that ultimately ended the relationship. She calls herself favorite person, her brother, she is packed and moved out and on her way back home. Elliot isn’t the only person happy to see Elise. Weston.So many things and reasons come between Weston and Elise but they cannot deny the longing and the chemistry between them. They both have cared for each for a long time and are now coming to terms with what that could mean. But when push comes to shove, can Weston put aside his company? I will say that I felt bad for Weston. He was going through a lot BUT what I hate most in a book..lack of communication! Ugh! But overall, very good read and hope we get the others in a book.

Oh wow. This book had me hooked from the beginning. Great plot. Spicy scenes. And some great comedy. All in all, this was a great book.

Dear Grumpy Boss was a fairly enjoyable read. I do have some mixed feelings though, as there were parts I really enjoyed and unfortunately parts I really disliked.It is dual POVs of the main characters, Elise and Weston, and there’s some great tropes like, close proximity, brother’s best friend, and a workplace romance.The overall premise was okay. There were some amusing, sweet, heartbreaking and intense moments. All the side characters and friendships in the story were also really great. Plot-wise though, there really wasn’t much going on, as the story focused more on the relationship between Elise and Weston.I really liked Elise; she was caring, passionate and understanding. Her insecurities were relatable and it was just beautiful to read how strong she was. On the other hand, Weston was not my favorite to be honest. While, I loved how passionate and in love he was with Elise, some of his actions and thoughts were quite inconsistent and frustrating.The romantic development between Elise and Weston was alright. It did feel a bit rushed though, as I just didn’t understand where these intense feelings were coming from especially because they hadn’t spoken or seen each other in years. So their shift to lovers felt a bit sudden in my opinion. I would have liked more romantic buildup or more snippets of their history of when they were younger.I will say though, the sexual tension and spice between them was definitely the main highlight of this book for me. I also really loved all the notes and emails they exchanged; their banter was really sweet and funny.The third act conflict and how that was handled, was honestly my biggest issue with this book. Weston royally messed up and even though he did grovel, it just didn’t feel like enough. I actually wanted to see the changes he promised happen or snippets of him putting her first, because I personally just feel like Elise would still be an afterthought if anything happens again.The epilogue was really sweet though and a nice conclusion to Elise and Weston’s story. Overall, a decent read with amazing spice.

Okay, now Weston. As much as he love Elise and vowed to keep her safe, he had some issues. The enjoyment I got out of how he tried to make her smile and just be the man he wanted or knew he could be, I also was angry. How could he not see how jealousy was working in the devil's hand. Also, how could he talk to his brother like that.I was happy that Elise called him out and had him see reason. If only he had let her in before.... Yeah, read the book.

Great story!! Love the main characters! So good to see a plus sized love interest with confidence! Can’t wait to read the next one!

I loved this book so much! This book kept me entertained all the way to the end. I can't wait to dive into more books from Julia Wolf!

This book kept me hooked to the end which no book has in a very very very long time. I’m a DNF kinda reader. So read this book!!!That said I’m also nit picky and there were a few things I wish had been different. I love workplace romances and I love boss romances but I like to believe that the main characters are equally intelligent. I kinda felt like she was a simpleton and he was a hot shot ceo and kind of felt like he felt that way too. I didn’t get the idea that he respected her on an intellectual level.The spice was there in a great way but I did start skipping over scenes by the last half of the book. They got repetitive.Vague spoilers to follow.The third act breakup was a little odd. Only because it was such a good third act breakup but the resolution was so rushed. He did grovel sure but the reason she takes him back based on a thing he’d been doing bc he liked her that was so obvious it didn’t make sense that she didn’t realize he’d been doing it bc he liked her. If that makes sense. I know it doesn’t but it further made her seem like kind of not that bright lolAll in all still highly recommend for a spicy office place romance. My favorite part:I LIVED for his jealousy

I was looking for something that was going to be an easy read, and put me into the storyline for some escape. I was pleasantly surprised by the writing, and the story development thoroughly enjoying the characters and friendships. Weston and Elise are characters that you grow to appreciate as they realize the truth to successful relationships. Watching the characters come to realizations about themselves and grow emotionally always makes the story more enjoyable. Their interactions and ease of banter due to their long-standing friendship was enjoyable to read. In reality, what woman doesn’t want her best friend and her soulmate to be the same person, and to be cherished as Weston learns to cherish Elise.

Love love love this one, it had me hooked from the start, I do love a brothers best friend romance, this one is really good, really well written, I love all the characters, every single one even Miles, got to go the next one in the series is calling my name, highly recommended.

I am a lover of epistolary romance. A friend recommended this one. And for reasons unknown it sat on my KU shelf for a long time. I finally picked it up and well a day and a half later I had read it and fallen in love with Westie and Ellie. Watch me binge the whole series now!

Give it a read. U won’t regret. Very relatable and realistic. Looking for more books from this author. Loved it
