It does what it says on the tin. Simple suppers - easy recipes. Good illustrations and Rick's wonderful descriptions. I have all his books - every one a gem.

I bought 2 recipe books as Christmas presents- this one and another one from a tv chef. The first book yielded only one recipe whereas this one ..! The recipes go on and on!If like me you have always associated Rick Stein with seafood recipes, be prepared for something different. This book is written in a chatty way, with recipes for all tastes using veg or fish or meat with lots of herbs and spices to maximise flavour. The recipes are easy to follow and easy to cook for just one-or two- or for friends. I have cooked 6 of the recipes already - and more earmarked to cook !

What a nice recipe book with clear instructions and great photos

Mostly the ones I have tried are delicious. it's true that not every one has hit the spot exactly but it's a good success rate for me. So far I have always found the ingredients easily. Ranges from suppers for one to social suppers. Vegetarian dishes, fish and meat. All quite manageable. I use Simple Suppers quite often.

I'm a keen cook, but very rarely get excited about cookery books. Many recipes take forever to prepare and are not great for one or two people. Too much effort. This absolutely isn't the case with Rick Stein's Simple Suppers. A truly fabulous book which I haven't been able to put down since I was given it as a present. Love the variety and simplicity of everything presented. If you're going to buy ONE cookery book, make sure that it is this one.

The title is exactly what you get,simple straightforward recipes tasty meals for late eating.

Fab cook book as you would expect and more, lovely enjoyable meals and easy to follow recipes.

I have a number of Rick Stein’s books, all thoroughly well used, and this latest one is no exception. It’s great. I am a very keen cook and this last one was gifted to me by my Canadian son-in-law. He is also a keen cook so we sent him one for Christmas, which was also very well received.
