What I love is the journal it opens up a whole world ...
This is the third time I have purchased sonething from this range. What I love is the journal it opens up a whole world of exploration. Not excelling at science myself but having a daughter who is tack aged by it I would highly recommend this product. I would say anyone under 6 it's not suitable for. My daughter is 8 and can use with ease and understand. All the journals use household products so you can get started right away. It's one of the only things thats not a five minute wonder.

Is this safe?
I bought this for my 8 year old grandson as I thought he'd love it, however I won't be giving it to him. When I received it I saw that on the front it says 'Do not expose eyes and skin to ultra-violet light...' My grandsons both have significant eyesight problems and I would worry that this might be dangerous, especially if the younger one got hold of it. Surely this warning should be made clearer? Or should goggles not be provided? Either it's dangerous or it isn't, but I'm just not clear on the possible dangers and feel the information given is inadequate before purchasing.

This was a second gift for an eight year-old girl ...
This was a second gift for an eight year-old girl. It has proven to be a hit and is very educational. Her parents can't thank me enough, because all the toys on her wish list were silly fads that only receive short-term attention before being abandoned. This remains interesting.

Good but over priced
Good little set for budding scientists but over priced for what you actually get!

Fun to write secret messages
The pen and light work really well. You can't see the writing at all until it's under the special light. Super fun for kids to write spy messages and secret notes.

Great (and inexpensive!) STEM gift - 8yo and 9yo LOVED it
I have given this as a birthday gift to my own 8 year old daughter - and based on her successful reception, I ended up buying more to give to her 8 yo cousin and 9 yo friend for their birthdays! It's an awesome gift - inexpensive but packed full of fun. Kids love that they can create "secret"/invisible notes and the booklet that comes with the pen and light more than exceeded my expectations. It has lots of great STEM/science experiments for kids to use the light with and it took my daughter a full afternoon to complete. I am keeping this gift up my sleeve for future grade-school birthday gifts!
