I love the beautiful clock! The chimes are wonderful..like bells!. It is great to have a choice in volume and chimes. Only one sad omission …. No choice in ticking or not. That I miss!! It creates a “Welcome home” feeling to me. Alas…!

While I know that Seiko makes quality clocks, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and performance. The solid oak, fit and finish, is impressive for the price. I'm as fussy as can be on exact time, my other clocks in the house are atomic clocks synched to the precise time. After two days this clock is still dead on where I had set it.Beyond the quality look and construction, the chime sound is top notch. If one was in another room when the clock chimed, you would believe we had a full-sized grandfather clock in the house. For using electronic generated sound, I wouldn't have thought the Westminster chimes would sound so realistic. I do appreciate the auto night silence from 11:00PM until 6:00AM.The one minor downside, and it is rather minor, is the setting of the time. That's done by removing the back plate (easy to do, it just slides out), and turning the time wheel. It's a bit difficult to set the time exactly, put the back plate on, start the pendulum, and hang on the wall, while keeping the time set exact. I was able to do it within +/- ~15 seconds of the exact time. Since so far it was kept very good time not something I'll have to do very often.Tip: make sure you use a level after hanging. If the clock isn't level on the wall the pendulum will not swing evenly and impact time accuracy. Easy to do with a small torpedo level (see picture). This applies to any type of pendulum clock, not just this one.Overall, a clock that delivers above the price point and is built with quality and looks dang nice as well. I'd call it a good value for the money.
