Is the adhesive on these strong enough to hold an A4 plastic envelope containing 20-30 pages of A4 paper?

We use them to hold plastic presentation wallets with about the same. Appears it would be but not sure it'd hold up to too much pulling about. We use 2, one on front and one on the back. Works well for care plans in adult social care (lots of heavy handed and frequent pulling about).

do these come with the holder shown?

No mine came in a small plastic sleeve (no holder)

Could these be used to bind a calender together i.e hold 13 pages in place and be able to hang onto a wall ??

not really - they're designed to hold A4 magazines or multi-page documents etc., into a two or 4 ring binder. A coarse way of suspending your calendar with one of these strips is to 'face' staple your pages and attach the strip top rear but you'll have a very unfinished look I'm afraid.

Are these clear when in use? As in completely see-through on the back of the paper they are stuck to.

I can confirm that the strips once the backing has been removed and they are stuck to whatever that they are completly clear.Care taken in placing correctly first time is worth the bother, make sure you press down firmly all the strip to ensure stays stuck.I have been completly satisfied with the product.
