Average Yarn
I only bought the red and the cream. I don’t think this is any different than the Super Saver. The skeins are large, but 3 regular Super Saver solid color skeins would cost less and the total yardage would be more. I can almost always find the pull-out in the Super Saver, but I could not find it in the Comfort skeins I bought. Softness varies with color; the cream was better than the red. When I checked Super Saver in the store, softness seemed comparable for these colors -- & many Super Saver colors are softer. It works well for things like toys and decorations, but I wouldn’t think it would be as good for clothing. Lion Brand’s Pound of Love is about the same price, has more yardage and is softer. Do not confuse with this with Red Heart Comfort Sport, which is a nice, light-weight yarn.

Feels rough and a little scratchy
This is a rough yarn and it has some stretch to it. As a positive, it didn't have any knots or weak spots, but you don't want to use this for scarves (which is what I bought it for) or anything that you want to be soft on the skin. I ended up making hats with this, but do keep in mind that it stretches, so you'll want to adjust your pattern for that.

Not all the same dye lot
I ordered and received 4 skeins of Red Heart Comfort Yarn, Purple Print. The first thing I noticed was one of the separately packaged skeins looked as if it was opened and loosely in it's sleeve. I decided to use that one first. But, I tried to find the loose end to pull from the middle and couldn't find it at either end. Losing patience, I decided to take one of the other skeins. When that skein was finished I started on another skein. As I was crocheting I noticed that that color was sllightly off. When I checked the dye lots 3 of the 4 were the same, but the one I had already finished was different. Anyone who crochets or knits knows how frustrating it can be after finishing one skein only to find out that it had a different dye lot than the others. Also, one skein had many mergers in it. It's alright to have a couple of knots but this had SEVERAL. I will not order from this seller again. Nor will I order the Hearts brand of yarn again.

Rough!
I used this to add to a lap robe crocheted for a nursing home. The yarn coarse, like working with rough twine, and it left sore spots where it ran across my fingers as I worked. The yarn would, in my opinion, be suitable for amigurumi toys but not, ideally, for anything that would be in contact with sensitive skin. The price was decent for the amount of yarn you get in this huge skein. I'm hoping that washing the lap robe I made will soften the yarn somewhat.

Don't buy this yarn!
I started an afghan for one of my grandsons for his graduaion from high school. He is interested in military things; hence the choice of camo colors. This yarn was scratchy (not soft), had several places in the first skein that I was using where the yarn had been tied together, and it didn't even look good when crocheted up. I would have been ashamed to give it to my grandson. I would like to return the yarn for a refund, but don't know how to do it. I crocheted a lot of the first ball. It could be undone and wound into a ball again and used if anyone would want it. I spent $76.08 on this purchase and was very disappointed in the product. How can I return it for a refund? Jo Ann

I love the color
I love the color, but I a disappointed that I got 3 of the same dye lot and one that is different, and even before crocheting I could tell it did not have as much white as the others,So I started my Blanket with the one from a different dye lot so it would just look like it was the top of the blanket, 2/3 of the way through I found a knot, the threat was not continuous so I had to cut it out and re tie it so I could get it to blend in. I use Red Heart Yarn a lot and this was a disappointment, but I have to continue baby is due in March. I will stick to buying my yarn at craft stores, if I had found the knot problem with one of theirs I would have undone the crocheting I had done & returned it for my money back, and continued with a new skein, and I always buy more than I need, and make squares or smaller item s with the extra yarn. Lesson Learned don't by yarn on line :(

Your basic red heart acrylic. Not soft.
This yarn has beautiful colors, but that's about the best I can say for it. It is the typical redheart acrylic, scratchy yarn. Was really hoping for something better since it is called "comfort" yarn. I'm literally getting blisters between my tensioning fingers, just letting the yarn pass through with no tension. It does have good loft, so if you use a large hook and no tension, it works up with decent bulk and creates a warn fabric. It is springy, but the rough texture means it is NOT a yarn for afghans, baby blankets, or any garments.

Not what I thought I was getting.
When I did my search and ordered this item, I entered "Red Heart With Love Tan", what I got was Red Heart Comfort in Tan. This yarn is horrible. It is, a different shad than the With Love Tan, and it is not as soft as the With Love. I had to keep it because I needed it to finish an afghan I was making for Christmas. I paid an atrociously high price for it, and I had to pay shipping as well. NOT HAPPY!

unwinds from the outside! Thanks
I love the colour and I've always liked Red Heart yarns. They're easy to work with and knit or crochet up very well!My only complaint was that usually they are good enough to pull a bit of yarn from the middle so you work from the inside out!Unfortunately this time I had a 16oz ball of yarn and have to use it from the outside which is a royal pain as it doesn't fit in anything I have and it's necessary to yank the huge ball to get it to unwind!I'm having to rewind it all manually into smaller balls to make it easier to use!!Dang!!

Good value for price
I bought a few different types of '4' weight yarn to make a blanket recently. I really like this bright yellow and was by far the thickest of the weights although they were all rated as a 4. I also got a Caron pound and a lion brand pound of love, which was the thinnest. For some reason the texture of this yarn comes across as slightly rough but hopefully it will soften up when I wash and block it, I've used red heart yarns in the past and like that they are good value and buying a pound means less weaving or knots. Happy enough with the end product, I think the giftee won't notice the weight discrepancy but working with the individual yarns I definitely notice it, the red heart has a nice bulk and shape, the lion brand feels a bit wimpy in comparison, the Caron is soft and is a nice middle ground.

Color fades
I was so happy with this yarn until I let it soak in water with hair conditioner, rinsed then dried flat. Sadly the color really faded. I'm very disappointed.

Great Yarn
I'm very pleased with this yarn purchase. I've used Red Heart yarn on several occasions and have never been disappointed. It knits up beautifully and looks great. I intend to knit a sweater with this most recent purchase, although I haven't yet gotten around to it. No doubt it will turn out as beautifully as the other knitting projects I've completed with Red Heart. Thanks for a great product! I'll certainly purchase from this seller again.Update: 26 July 2021: As much as I love this yarn, I'm disappointed that each ball now costs $17.80, as opposed to the $9.99 I paid less than 2 years ago. That's close to a 100% increase within a relatively short period of time. It's becoming an expensive hobby. Regardless, the quality is very, very good. I just hope they'll be able to bring the prices back down to earth in the near future. Meanwhile, happy knitting everyone!

Absolutely satisfied
I am an experienced knitter and have used this make of yarn in different thicknesses. I like the fact that it's complete in one package enough for a sweater. The color is well illustrated on Amazon (a blue with lilac ) no knots and well spun, no thinning or slubs. It might feel course to some, there could be "sizing" in the yarn from manufacturing, it washes out and with the addition of softener in the rinse its so cuddly. I machine wash and dry and sweaters have lasted for years. Good product!
