These pieces showed variations in the quality and suitability for my purpose … While one piece had a really beautiful grain pattern (see photo), two others (one of which is shown in detailed photo) had imperfections that made them less useful for making cutting-boards, as the gaps in the grain could harbor bacteria in everyday usage. The grain gaps also made those pieces especially unsuitable for making thin strips for my cutting-boards.

This was a four piece order. Three of the pieces were perfect. The fourth was totally different grain and color. Had to return the order. The people selecting the wood pieces could be more careful.
