Excellent Bean Slicer.
An excellent bean slicer which enables all but the most awkward beans to be sliced easily.

Razor sharp blades
This is a copy of the original bean stringer and works perfectly if you know how to use it. Basically snap off the tops and tails of your beans by hand, ensuring that you also remove the strings along the sides. Then wiggle the beans through from the wider top, pulling them gently from below if they get stuck. Do not touch the internal blades as they bite!

Simple and effective
This was bought to replace a really ancient "Zipp" slicer which had finally disintegrated. So far we are very pleased with it - the blades are sharp and it does what it's supposed to do. It is slightly different from our old slicer as the blades are at different heights and further apart - and the latter means that most runner beans only go through the central few blades so the slices are perhaps a bit wider than we'd like. However I couldn't find a replacement with a design like our old one, apart from one or two with very poor reviews, so we are happy to have found a decent alternative.

Works but does not ‘string’ your runner beans
Slices the beans adequately but you cannot use this to cut them shorter; you need a knife as well. Neither does this ‘string’ the beans. Best used with stringless beans which have this year been easier to come by than the (tastier!) traditional runner beans.

Runner bean nostalgia, a good purchase
I remember seeing a friend's mother preparing their runner beans with a little gadget like this when I was a child, in the sixties. My own mum I think used to cut hers into diagonal chunks, and that's the way I have always done it up until now, when I decided to look for a bean cutter like this. Beans straight from the garden, or even picked a day before can be pressed through this gadget and it works very well. Older or stringier beans might cause a problem, but the young and tender ones are fine and they are the ones we want to be eating, after all. Works with climbing (green) beans too, although for thinner ones I would go for the narrow mouth cutter.

Best with fresh beans.
Perfect kitchen tool. Sliced beans smoothly. Make sure beans are very fresh!

Neat, efficient, compact.
I have deducted one star because the blades could do with being slightly closer together, as small, tender beans slide right through! Also, it is hard to dry. BUT it is just what I wanted - no frills, safe to use, tough and neat to hold and takes up almost no space in the drawer. Oh, what a joy, no cutting my nails by mistake and a board to wash, just push the bean down onto the blades and then pull it through from the bottom! You can't go wrong unless you try to fish bits out with your fingers!!

Taglia fagiolini
Funziona abbastanza bene, ma taglia stricciolini di fagiolini troppo large. Funzionava meglio quello di mia madre trent'anni fa! Facile pulire.

SHARP PIECE OF KIT
It’s the best for slicing coco plat beans or runner beans if you’re a Brit. Couldn’t be without it.

Bean Slicer
Bean Slicer This little bean slicer took a while to arrive by which time the beans I'd been keeping in the fridge had gone soft a bit. So, it wasn't too easy to slice them long & elegantly..! The blades aren't all the same height & so select 2 or to use depending on what you're preparing.

Original, afilado
No es el más barato que se encuentra, pero si el que mejor funciona. Probé otro de imitación y no cortaba ni la mitad. Mejor gastarte 10 € en este y que funcione bien
