Amazing Book!!
I can't say enough good things about this book!! In May of 2017 I was way out of shape. I had been on a vacation and my diet went out the window and I hated how I looked. Started using the 70 second difference in June, 2017 and within 2 weeks I could see changes happening!! Within a month I no longer had a huge waist and I was more toned and stronger!! All you need is 70 seconds a day to get real results!! I have to add that I am 69 years old and have had 81 surgeries and still got results using this book!!

Love the straight forward and comedic presentation
Just got this book and dove right in! Love the straight forward and comedic presentation. There's a lot of info here so it definitely will be a great reference to review over and over. Everyone is busy these days so it is important to get in your exercise AND be efficient; "The 70 Second Difference" helps you find that balance as well as address the big issue of nutrition. Having met the authors I know they LIVE what they have written! This book is a great gift for yourself and loved ones who are ready to invest in some healthy practices.

Great Read for Scientifically Backed Info
Not sure exactly how this book is Politically incorrect. There is nothing shocking just really good solid information that seems to check out with science. I haven't read it all the way through but so far I like how it feels like I am part of a conversation with the two authors both of which are fascinating people. It reads a little bit like a movie narration. Very smooth and fun.

Less Time on The Repetive Information, More Focus on The Diet and Workouts
The book is probably closer to a 2.5, but, since it isn't an option going with a 2.Going to start with the bads:- Ok, first, a HUGE glaring (and dangerous) error in the book regarding isometrics and heart disease: no, isometrics won't halt or reverse heart disease. Period. Heart disease is a diet-induced issue for 99% of the population and how do you heal it? Diet...plain, simple and proven. Period. Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. K. Lance Gould, etc.--MDs who have objectively proven how heart disease is halted and/or reversed.- Repetitive information. eg The section demonstrating the exercises is simply pages of Helen showing the same seven exercises with descriptions with one or two new exercises added per section.- John Little had published most of the scientific research in his book Max Contraction series several years ago; sure, a lot of this is also available for free on the web but the book does save some hunting and searching.- Diet...huh? The book spends quite a bit of time and energy recommending against products like Whey Protein (with very good reason) and dairy in general and advocates a vegan or near-vegan diet. Great. So, is there a diet either of the authors would recommend that helped Helen, for example, get in shape for her contests? Nope.- Training. A lot of exercises with a product that they like called the Iso-Bow. Ok, how about other options--like applying the program to barbells, etc., for those of us that like that option, and, we can measure our progress (which is discussed in the book). Again, no--just a lot of focus on the Iso-Bow. Also, why not set out sample workouts for each level of intensity along with isometric training options discussed in the book. For example, a 70% intensity program with Monday - Friday workouts vs. a 100% intensity M/W/F program.Good Stuff?- Food truths. Kudos to the authors for explaining the BS surrounding protein, Whey supplementation, etc. Wish more authors, magazines, etc., would come clean. Evena diet high in good fats, vegetables with minimal protein would be better than 99% of the 'bodybuilding diets' that are out there.- Workout. I welcome the fact the authors show objectively that the need for high volume nonsense pushed by the bodybuilding magazines.- I also like the fact Sterling Vete calls about the BS regarding claims this program or that program will make you a superstar or world champ. Genetics.- Finally, I appreciate the recognition that one set at 70% daily for 7 - 10 seconds, or, 100% for 3 - 7 seconds a few times a week will meet your strength needs.Summary? The book could have some great potential for beginner, intermediate or advanced trainers, but, there's a lot of missing information.

NEXT!
Vegan propaganda, smug insults directed at the reader, no cohesive outline on how to apply most of the information, 95% of the scientific facts used are unsourced, sexy bikini photos of the author are too small.Quickly got tired of the go nowhere extraneous information, started skipping ahead. Got frustrated with that and went straight to the back of the book for the exercises.A quick glanced at that, which was basically a isometric deadlift, lead me to the conclusion;this is the only work out her frail vegan body can handleWhether you want low impact exercises or dieting information, l recommend looking elsewhere.

Great reading
Great reading for new ideas and information

Interesting and blunt enough to make one take notice.
A book that brings together in, simple and blunt terms, much of what I’ve learned in a lifetime of taking exercise but which I have never sat back and put together. It’s overly dogmatic and, occasionally, self-contradictory but the contradictions are sufficiently obvious so as not to detract from the thrust of the books message. In a nutshell: don’t eat like a pig unless you want to look like one; exercise efficiently to maximise the results.Well worth reading even if you already think you know what you are doing.Authors, thanks for writing it.

If you're a po - faced, politically correct snowflake, DO NOT read this book. Otherwise, ENJOY!!
No joking, if you get easily offended by the sight of your own shadow, then this book is definitely NOT for you. If you'd suffer from convulsive hysteria by reading that the reason you're FAT is because you stuff your face with junk, rather than good food, then this book is definitely NOT for you. However, if you're reasonably open - minded and level - headed, then enjoy this tome. It does go a bit heavy on the science of isometrics and other types of exercises; if that level of knowledge " floats your boat " then you will enjoy this book. The only criticism I have, is that this book would benefit from a better proof-reader.

A lot of information
This is quite a thick book but there's not a word wasted. It's full of so much useful information from authors that really know their stuff having coached 4 x Worlds Strongest Man winner, Jon Pall Sigmarsson, amongst many others. From the ideal diet to the science of exercise this book brings everything together and makes sense to me. It goes deep into the science of Isometric exercise and other techniques that are proven to work. A simple, quick but efficient workout is included. A great read.

This book suggests the Isobow for the exercises and it really is a fantastic piece of equipment BUT it is not the equipment ...
I have been using Isometrics for a long while now in my own training and have been looking for some science to back up what I know works. I am 53 and fitter now than ever and my whole resistance part of my training is isometrics. This book suggests the Isobow for the exercises and it really is a fantastic piece of equipment BUT it is not the equipment that makes the magic happen. Since owning all of Brian's books I have "applied the science" of his Isofitness programme and have been very pleased with the results. I am keen to use this system with my clients from my fitness training nordic walking business. This one is the BIBLE of Isometrics in my opinion and if you can only afford one book go for this one and suplement it with Trisometrics if you want to take things further - Outstanding. Ian
