SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification All-In-One Exam Guide, Second Edition

I pre-ordered this guide months ago with high hopes and it has not disappointed. I finally received it early last week and have worked through this guide front to back, including the online system, to provide a review of the content in comparison to the BASK, the quality of it, and the quality/quantity of practice questions provided.All in all, I find this updated guide to be much better than the first, which is surprising because the first edition was pretty good. The content is easy to follow and the online system helps with compounding learning and competency nicely.If you're on a budget or would rather save money on learning resources to provide yourself a greater reward after passing, this guide will serve you well.I actually like its formatting better than the SHRM LMS.Kindle version: $39.99Paperback version: $59.79It's well-written, well-aligned, and connected the content across domains (super important), it's easy to follow and the online content is solid.Definitely worth the price point.

Used this to study for the SHRM-CP exam. Overall, a good pick. Definitely more affordable than any of the study guides from SHRM. This book was a lot easier to digest than previous study books I read at first. Broken down by the core competencies, complete with practice questions at the end of each section (super helpful). The online practice was great just for getting practice for the test format.Cons: While it gives a good intro level to the concepts, it wasn't as in depth as the actual test. The practice questions were MUCH easier than the actual exam. Just be prepared for a drastic shift in difficulty level between the study questions and the actual test.Summary: Great into study guide, definitely worth the lower price. If it was more expensive I'd say avoid, but you really can't go wrong for this price.

I used both this book and pocket prep to study and I passed my SHRM-SCP exam!!. As for the book, I think it is a great resource just to have as reference material for my career in HR. Would definitely recommend.

I have 1 year of HR experience. I leveraged my experience and information from this book to pass the exam. I dedicated about 10 hours over 4 weeks to study for the exam. This book was well worth it. Brush up on HR laws and answer all of the practice questions in the book!!

I have the 1st edition and ordered the 2nd but returned it. Overall, it is a good addition to your CP and SCP study materials.

I believe this book does a good job of covering the basics of what is needed for the exam. However, I found typos, repetitive quiz questions, repetitive content, inconsistent sequencing of topics, and different "voices" in writing style to be distracting at best and confusing at worst.Examples include: Replacing the phrase "identity alignment" with "identify alignment" in the concept's explanation, naming the four aspects of a theory and then describing them either out of order or with two concepts consolidated into one, and reusing questions from the book's chapter tests in the online exam.If those types of things don't bother you like they do me, then this book is great! My issue was less with the deficiencies themselves and more with my confidence in how well the necessary information was being covered overall if there was this type of inattention to detail.

I have ordered similar books to help me study for the SHRM exam. Most of those books were full of exam tips, rather than actual content to study for the exam. This book is a great resource to help you prepare for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams.
